UPDATED: JUN 15, 2017 Bottle shared with Seb A: citrusy, light vanilla/oak, herbacy. App: hazy pale lasting white head with great lacing. T/p: thin body with short bitter finish. Moderate high carbonation. O: Nicely done pretty crisp with a nice hopiness. I think I drink it in context. It’s was pretty hot and humid today. I enjoyed it.

Bottle (500 ml) at home. Split 2-ways. Ultra pale green-ish yellow with a medium easy to revive white head, decent retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of peppery cereals, herbal brettanomyces and light spiciness/cloves notes. Taste is quite herbal with peppery cereals, floral notes and oaky notes. Light body. Medium-high carbonation. Super dry finish. Very easy drinking because of the low abv, the lean cereal backbone and the ultra dry finish, but it lacks a bit of complexity and flavors to be among the best of the style. Still a pretty interesting quenching though.

500ml bottle served in snifter, thanks Rollande for buying. Aroma: lots of flowers, citrus, apples, slightly funky-vomitish. Sorry but I really smell that. App: clear like a Budweiser with small to medium white head, good lacing. Taste and palate: light body, resinous, oily and oaky , moderate carbonation, moderate carbonation, astringent finish. Overall: honestly I think that La Memphré can do really great stuff besides their regular ones that are not really created for beer geeks which is alright. This one, that is created for beer geek is unfortunately a bit of a let down. I had great hopes but was disappointed. The nose looked really good at first but then I started smelling something that I didn’t really enjoy, reminding me of... Well I said it above ;) Also, this is not really pintable even though the taste is quite light and bland. Maybe I’m just not in the mood for this kind of beer. Wasn’t expecting something astringent either. Sorry David, I can’t love all of your creations. I can’t wait to taste your next ones though!

A lightly golden saison with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity banana malt with cloves, light Brett, light lactic notes, very nice and floral. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light oily mouth feel, coriander, light perfumy notes, nice and smooth. On tap at La Cuvée d’hiver, 2017.
