Pours a dark reddish brown with a nice light tan head. The aromas are light roasted malts. The flavors are strong roasted malts and coffee, and not so sweet and slightly bitter. Very pleasant and well balanced brown beer. Chopper925 (562) - Gross Gerau, GERMANY - AUG 13, 2015
Bottle La Babaute, nice clear dark color, small brown head. Aroma is nice, toffee, coffee, resin. Taste is light sweet, light bitter, light sour. Light to medium texture, flat, typical carbonation. Malty, coffee aftertaste. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2006
Bottled. A mahogany brown coloured beer with no head. The aroma is malty with brown sugar, brown bread and alcohol notes. The taste is also nice and malty. Berry fruits and raisins amidst a woody background. A nice body and a real nice taste. Amazing how this brewery brews such variable beers. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Gee, where did I get this beer? I don’t remember. But it doesn’t really matter either, because these Combe Aux Loups beers are excellent. This one is filtered, dark mahogany-coloured, nice head. Malty, slightly coffeeish with a discreet sweetness. Extremely harmonic and well balanced. 091203 trapez (1563) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2010

75 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange to amber with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, roasted malty and slight breadish. Roasted malty, breadish and slight bitter. Ends malty and slight bitter finish. LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 19, 2003
Interesting and unusually dark biere de garde (in my experience anyway). Had a hard time describing it but here are my notes: "Heavy" fruits (plums, dates?), medium sweet (caramel), light alcohol.
