bottle conditioned 750ml, best by date December 2013. dull amber brown pour with a medium-sized off-white head and little retention. oxidized amber malt, stale caramelized honey and fruit and floral esters make up the nose. so the malt tends to work like a dunkel, it’s toasty, grain / cereal-like, but the apple, pear, white grape and other fruit esters just are not my thing. there’s a sourish, leathery pastiness throughout that’s absolutely unpleasant. paint-like yeast in the finish lingering. solid dud from a great brewery.

750 ml bottle courtesy of Beerand Blues2 (thanks Brad!) poured a clear amber with a small lingering creamy ivory head. Aromas of straw, herbal notes, grapefruit and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, herbal, earthiness and light spice with a crisp dry moderatly bitter lingering eathy finish.

Pours a nice copper color with a frothy white head that lingers for some time. Aroma is citrus and hops, making me look forward to the first sip. Taste didn’t follow very well - the citrus wasn’t there, just earthy and roasty. Good carbonation on the mouth feel, but a bit thin. Overall a good beer, but not one that I would go out of my way to get again.

Svesse (8573) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 2, 2012
(Draught at Delirium Tap Bar, Brussels, 18 Oct 2012) Reddish amber colour with creamy beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, orange peel and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, caramel, dried fruit and a gentle citric bitterness in a finish with a certain sweetness. Medium body. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle, 75cl. It pours a lightly unclear, amber body and a dense, beige, two-finger head leaving lacings. The aroma is lightly roasted, with toffee, dark dried fruits, some pleasant acidic notes and a touch of some hops and spicyness. Quite hoppy flavor, with a nice bitterness. Quite dry on the palate, full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Roasted malts, some spices and a touch of caramel. Bitter, lightly roasted finish. Pleasant and tasteful, well worth drinking. 121124

JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 15, 2012
750ml from Beer Planet, Brussels. Very nice pour, frothy pale copper with some sediment and tons of lacing. Buoyant, billowing head yields a ripe aroma of farmhouse and tons of hops. Slight breadiness in there along with yeast, but dominated by bitter citric hops. Taste is similarly punchy but with a bit more balance from sweet malts and even a hint of spice. Nice hoppy hybrid.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 28/X/12 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: XII/13 (2012-1201)

Clear amber coloured beer, small irregular creamy off-white head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, some passion fruits, piny hops, some ripe sweet fruits, something off, rotten, spicy. MF: too much carbon, medium body. Taste: some caramel, grains, malts, bit fruity, piny bitter hops, some citrus. Aftertaste: bit spicy, citrus, alcohol, dry bitter ending, yet a bit watery.
