Deep copper coloured Christmas beer, unspiced contrary to many of its congeners, dried fruits, caramel, some roasted bitterness, smooth mouthfeel, subdued sweetishness and hop bitterish finish. Good but somewhat forgettable - which is too bad, since it is apparently not made anymore.

Draft at Farmers Cabinet. Billed as "Noel de Coeur" but a bit suspicious as this supposedly retired a few years ago. Dark orange red pour with a frothy head. Lots of lace. Sugar plums. Candied ginger. Fig neutons. Merlot. Celery seed. Rasin pie. Gently sweet but mostly dry. Complex subtle flavors. Thankfully missing many of the overpowering spice flavors of most Christmas beers. Very nice! altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - DEC 10, 2010
