Bottle shared in Hackney - many thanks to Tipple. Pours unclear gold with a creamy, white head. A nip of funk in the nose, lemon peel, wheat flakes. Light sweet flavour with a little lemony tang, wheat grains, straw, white bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Tidy finish, some melon, peach, a little farm, wheat bread. Very nice, very drinkable. fiulijn (21506) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 29, 2016
Tasting at Matt’s, batch LS230088, bb July 2016mcberko (19803) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 29, 2016
Hazy blond color. Penetrating aroma, a lot of strong honey (eucalyptus, linden), and some spicy yeast, perfumy candlewax; original. Too much carbonation, probably too much bottle refermentation, and the mouthfeel is very dry; spicy character, strong, and woody final.
A bit chaotic, but interesting.
375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out rustic farmhouse notes, light sheep / horse blanket, and dry biscuity notes. Flavour is complex and well-balanced, with rustic farmhouse notes, a touch of funk, and a dry biscuity finish. Really nicely constructed. Complex and authentic. Excellent. Slightly hazy and a bit tan. Not much head. The aroma is a bit funky, touch of brett. Bit tart, but again some dirty funk. Just not clean enough. Their stuff is usually better. Ferris (17070) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 24, 2016
Bottle - Sweet, flowery with some stone notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Light sweet and grassy. Very effervescent.

Bottle at LKS - shared by Mr T. It pours slightly hazy golden with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, bready, earthy, cereal, nougat, candied apple, pear and funk. The taste is dry, bitter, tart, vinous, oily, Granny Smith apple, pear, melon, white bread, barnyard tang and sherbet on the back-end. Medium body and moderate foamy carbonation. 0.75cl Bottle: brought to the Belgian Beer Board Pre-Brugge beer festival bottle exchange by Filip, thanks mate.
An Australian Saison, what a surprise to see this in Brugge.
I loved it.
Misty golden body (it had been poured a few times before I got my hands on it) with a white covering, I managed to get just under a half-pint into my glass: didn’t want to appear greedy did I?
Yeasty farmyard; proper Saison smells in other words. Sour yeastiness in the mouth along with a sweet undertone that blend together giving a truly memorable experience and a wonderful taste.
So different to anything else at the bottle swap: some cracking brews, but this and the Ommegang 3 Philosophers really stood out for me in their classiness, even though they are worlds apart in styles.
