La Socarrada is a "gastro-ale," or food-pairing golden ale made with only, water, malts (pils/amber), hops, yeast, rosemary, and rosemary honey. La Socarrada pours a beautiful golden-amber color with a light, white, non-persistant head. The nose is wonderfully appetizing, filled with rosemary, rosemary-honey, and a light bread-like quality. The taste is full of rosemary, rosemary honey, and fruity characteristics along the lines of pear, apple, and fig. There is also a distinct gingery bite as well as a light note of black pepper. The body is both crisp and pleasantly dry. It is recommended to be served around 45° in a white wine glass or snifter.

Birrachica (6) - Madrid, SPAIN - FEB 24, 2014 does not count
Su aroma y sabor a romero domina y sorprende, combina muy bien con carnes de caza. Es muy equilibrada, pero, te tiene que gustar el romero, si no mejor otra... ¡A mí me encanta!

Rifaldo (39) - Torello, SPAIN - FEB 16, 2014
Botella. Romaní ho impregna tot, l’aroma a bosc mediterrà ho impregna tot però a la boca i al paladar fa que amagi defectes com la poca amargor i l’ensucrament. Tot i així bona triple i refrescant. El que seria aquesta birra amb un dryhopping de llúpol americà..

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig, Gewürze. Geschmack leicht trocken fruchtig, leicht scharf würzig, Pfeffer. Insgesamt aber schwache Aromen.

BeerandBlues2 (13210) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 29, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy burnt orange with a small, frothy off-white head, short retention that recedes to the edge quickly, and spare lacing. Aroma is sweet and earthy rosemary, biscuit and light toast malt, pear and fig esters with earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is moderate spices, earthy and spicy rosemary, honey, medium sweet malt, pear and fig esters with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

Tide (3830) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 24, 2014
Bottle from Alko. Amber color, white head. Bittersweet taste with rosemary, citrus, a bit of hops, ginger and caramel. Bittersweet finish with citrus, rosemary and ginger. Decent brew.

berntholer (1615) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JAN 13, 2014
slight yellow ivorywhite head, disappears quickly with some lacing. orange-yellow and amber colour. aroma of rosemary, honey, thyme, sweet, slight metallic. taste like aroma, yeasty with slight bitter finish. medium body and carbonation. too much rosemary for me. bottle 33 cl / bbf sep-2014

rand (1700) - SWITZERLAND - JAN 11, 2014
Bottle 33 cl from WHYBeers - Malaga (E). Colour amber like a liquid honey, short pale beige head fugacious. Malted aromas, grassy, honey-toffy. The mouth is round with a little acidulity. The rosemary is well present, the honey is not invading. Grass and almond bitterness and a roasted and caramel malt. Original.

Rulymel (291) - SPAIN - JAN 3, 2014
I am not very fan of honey beers, but it was a gift from my wife. It was a nice surprise to me. Colour pale amber with a thin head that dissapers very quickly. Aroma is plenty of rosemary and herb, very refreshing. Taste is a mirrow of the aroma. Lots of rosemary at the beginning, then you can feel the rosemary honey coming in. The mix is really good, because of the rosemary, the beer is not so much sweet due to the honey add. Non alcohol apreciated. Neutral yeast notes and low bitterness of fresh herbal hops. Dry and nice finish. Good and original beer. If you are not a rosemary fan, you may find it excesive.

Clear amber beer, tidy white head. Palate is lightly crisp. Mild minerals. Light creamy malt, medium sweet. Fairly big rosemary with a slight minty vibe. Finishes slightly dry. Pretty herby but pretty drinkable.
