COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Socarrada is a "gastro-ale," or food-pairing golden ale made with only, water, malts (pils/amber), hops, yeast, rosemary, and rosemary honey. La Socarrada pours a beautiful golden-amber color with a light, white, non-persistant head. The nose is wonderfully appetizing, filled with rosemary, rosemary-honey, and a light bread-like quality. The taste is full of rosemary, rosemary honey, and fruity characteristics along the lines of pear, apple, and fig. There is also a distinct gingery bite as well as a light note of black pepper. The body is both crisp and pleasantly dry. It is recommended to be served around 45 in a white wine glass or snifter.

The rosemary here is just more pleasant on the nose than the palate. Smells like a rosemary forest. But upon drinking, one soon discovers the rosemary is truly alone. No interest from the yeast, no backing from malt, and no balance from hops. Really an interesting beer, and I am not sorry to have tried it, but it just doesnt have the complexity that would have made it great.

I saw medals on the bottle but not sure why here where there in the first place. NORMAL beer but nothing to write home about. Rosmary is there and that is a nice touch honey not so much. Mine sample is a yeasty yet crisp I know it doesnt make much sense.

Nice honey aroma, but the rosemary is too much. It overwhelms the beer. Totally out of balance.

Form the bottle poured into snifter. Pours hazy orange with huge white head. Nose is Sour, grainy with herbal subtones. Taste is sweetish to herbal. Subtil rosemary notes in the back. Finish is mildly bitter herbal...

130117. Bottle from Malt Traders. One of the better beers that I have had from Spain and a nice unexpected find. Bright golden amber colour with a deep white head and a sweetness in the flavour that contrasts to the slight bitterness that is also there. Full bodied with the herbiness of the rosemary coming through quite distinctly.

Completely fine. Bit too musty honey rather than sweet honey for me. Need more words to hit word minimum
