COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the worlds only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Many thanks to Fergus. Pours cloudy amber with a frothy tan cap. Big sugary malt nose, some toffee. Medium sweet flavor with dry bread, dried and leathery fruits. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Dry, leathery fruits on the finish, dark bread, toasty sugars. Good stuff. Quite drinkable.

On tap at Arendsnest. Pours a near clear deep amber with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has lots of bread and biscuit notes with supporting sweet dark grains. Flavor has dark bread and biscuit throughout with just a touch of raisin.

25cl en pression. la trappe chalice. Amsterdam. Appearance. Dark in color. Luscious head lasting forever. Lots if lace on the glass. Aroma: roasted barley, fruits, caramel. Taste: dry with a dark chocolate bitter finish. Palate: medium body. oily texture. Long finish. Overall: a well made bock. Not over powering. Dry chocolate taste was enjoyable.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2016 Vers van tap. Mooie donker roodbruine kleur met een volle kraag. Zoetige moutgeur. Frisse smaakt. Iets zoetig. Een goede bock. 2011 aged. Lekker volle mocha geur. Smaakt vol vanille, crme, koffie.

Reddish-darkbrown color, strong beige head. Caramell and fruit smell, medium carbonation. Fine bitter taste, slightly sweet, light sour. A bit too alcoholic taste for for me (and for a 7% beer I think). I liket its long lasting bitter aftertaste.

Dark ruby color with big beige head. Aroma of fermenting fruits, molasses, caramel, pear, cinnamon, nuts. Taste is light sour, bitter finish, a bit sweet. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Not my favorite bock.

Pours an average frothy off-white head that slowly dinmin ishes. Body is red brown, sparkles are visible. Aroma contains citrus fruits, caramel, spruce, straw, horse blanket, sweet dried fruits like raisin and grape. Flavor starts off light acidic, then goes to sweet and it finishes in bitter. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Although Im missing a bit of subtlety and complexity its still quite an enjoyable beer.

Nice, dark, ruby red beer with a full layer of foam. A somewhat sour aroma but with a fruity touch. It has a sweet taste in the beginning, but this moves on into quite a bitter aftertaste. Mooi, donker roodbruin bier met een volle stevige kop schuim. ietwat zurig aroma, met een fruitige toets. De smaak is in het begin vrij zoetig, maar dit gaat over in een vrij bittere nasmaak.
