COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

Clear reddish brown beer with off white creamy head. Aroma is Belgian yeast and sweet malts. Taste is belgian yeast, peary fruits, bready malt sweetness, bitterness and little sourness, with some alcohol when warming up. Medium full palate with long quite bitter finish. An interesting German-Belgian hybrid.

pour with a lot of beige fine foam. The beer itself has a nice red color but has no saturation. Smells fresh and floral but also a bit of sulfur IMHO. Great taste. Nice mixture betweensweet and bitter.

Dark red color, big beige head. Sweet aroma of malt, bread, caramel, cherry, honey, some other dark fruits and spices. Taste is similar, quite dry with mild sweetness and bitterness too, hint of alcohol in finish. Medium body and strong carbonation. Very enjoyable beer.

Bottle split at CBC thanks to Fergus, 22/10/13. Hazed mahogony brown with a good sized beige head. Nose is bready malts, toffee, dark fruits. Taste comprises toffee, yeasty notes, banana pie, brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with sweetened toffee notes. Decent bock.

Dark brown with a large beige head. Malty, lacks some sweetness. Therefore slightly bitter. Nice and full though.

This beer is unique in both taste and character. In terms of taste, it’s quite refreshingly dry. Not at all sweet like other bocks. It certainly the best bock I have drunk.

Darkish brown/amber pour with huge....is there a superlative that surpasses huge, head. Buttery popcorn and malt smell. Caramel, toffee and cookie also. So strange....taste doesn?t follow the smell. Right up front there?s mr. licorice and the malts. Ends up with a bitter sweet linger. Mouthfeel could have been fuller for my likings but still. Very nice beer, not experienced with bock?s but if this is an indicator for that style....bring ?m on! !!
