This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

330ml Bottle: Pours a clear dark amber with frothy tan head. Lacing. Aroma of caramel, molasses and dark stone fruit. Flavours of burnt toast, caramel and a slight dark rum note. Bitterness is big, finishes dry. Medium bodied, medium carbonation with a bit of astringency. Overall overly bitter and astringent, however, some nice flavours.

Aroma is nice, with caramel, burnt sugar, roasted walnuts, mollasesand toast bread. Taste is sweet and malty, with light grassy and earthy notes, burnt sugar candy, roasted malts, figs and dates. Overall, it feels really interesting, besides the sweetness.

ciocanelu (2597) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - AUG 3, 2017
Clear mahogany color with tan head. Aroma has sweet malt with dark bread crust and brown sugar. Taste is malty, sugary, quite yeasty, some earthy bitterness on the finish with toasted malt flavor. Medium body with medium plus carbonation. Overall it’s quite interesting, like a bock style beer but with some belgian style yeast notes.

A bottle from L’Apero, drunk at home. Aroma: very malty, almost chocolatey. Appearance: the darkest of dark brown, mountainous tan head. Palate: medium-bodied and creamy, soft carbonation, complex, predominently astringent finish. Taste: medium bitter with sweet notes, chocolate, coffee, nuts. Very tasty, one to savour.
