COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the worlds only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

33cl bottle - Dark ruby-brown with a medium sized tan head that quickly recedes to a thin film. Fantastic aroma of malt, toffee, dark fruit, and a hint of spice. Full bodied without being sticky or cloying, very nice. Lovely, complex flavour - malt, caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruit, toasted nuts - and a warm, lingering finish.

Bottle from Vrutak. Tasting at Brnjas place. Thanks! Murky to opaque dark amber, moderate lasting off-white head. Cherry, caramel, candy, toasty, syrup, cake. Very roasty and dry. Medium to full body, very smooth, medium carbonation, lasting dry finish. Very nice, Im surprised by the balance.

Bottle from Alko, Helsinki Pours dark brown with a sticky frothy head. Absolutely beautiful! Aroma of caramel, sweet malts and dark fruits. Taste is a nice mixture of sweet maltiness, caramel, dates, chestnut and yeasty spiciness. Medium bodied, light hoppiness, surprisingly bitter finish. Top points for appearance, but otherwise average beer at best. I have no idea what makes this a Bock, for it tastes like a Dubbel to me! :)

Pours a lovely deep red with nice cream head. A dare I say beautiful beer? Smells of treacle, molasses and soaked raisins. Lovely. Tastes very malty and bitter with a lingering sweetness. Strong alcohol aftertaste. A deep and complex beer which I really ought to love, but just doesnt quite do it for me. Still grows on you the further down the glass you go.
