"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

On tap at Cafe Gollem, Amsterdam on 16th March 2018. Cherry red with off-white vanishing foam and no lacing. Tart berry fruits and spices in aroma. Earthy pungency and berry fruits in-mouth, and a sweet fruity finish with caramel maltiness. Full bodied with an engaging texture.

Bottle from Pezinská pivná pumpa Classic dubbel, nice and yeasty, quite high carbonation doesn't really help enjoying it. But it is nice memory for Brugge.

Miły (131) - Kielce, POLAND - MAR 5, 2018
Wygląd: Barwa ciemno bursztynowa z głębokimi czerwonymi odcieniami, klarowna. Piana beżowa średniej wysokości, opada do niskiej warstwy pozostawiając niewielki lacing

Aromat: Słodowy: karmelowy, tostowy wraz z umiarkowanymi estrami bananowymi, lekko jabłkowymi, min. rodzynki. Niskie fenole w postaci goździków i dozy pieprzu.

promontor (169) - HUNGARY - FEB 27, 2018
0.33l bottle from Belga Sörmester. Clean dark red-brown body. Beige head. Starts big, fizzy, most of it vanishes quickly, but a thin layer remains longer. Complex fruity aromas, raisin, pear. Later some spices, red fruits (raspberry) and banana as well. Complex, a bit uneven, though. Taste is sweet, fruity. mostly red fruits. Hint of fresh sourness. Lively carbonation, surprisingly light body for the alcohol content. Starts with extremely promising aromas but the taste is less complex the fizzy palate would suit a lighter beer, not this one. It is still very enjoyable, but I would expect more from a trappist beer.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2018 Fra flaske. Brun med beige skum. Aroma af tørret frugt, klassisk belgisk gær. Karamel, rosiner, sød malt i munden.

Light-brown colour. Dense and log durations foam. Powerful beer. Heavy body, little taste of a lightly toasted coffee, caramel and toffee. Light retrotaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
