"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

Zilverenmaan (262) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - SEP 10, 2017
Beautiful red-brown with decent light mocha head. Aroma classic, warming caramel malts, some sweet raisins, sourish red currant, bit of an alcoholic sharpness. Rich and enjoyable but rather subtle. Taste distinctly caramelized, even slightly burt malts, some butterscotch. Lacking some complexity but very pleasant. Taste pure: absolutely no interferance of the alcohol. Becomes a bit sweet and heavy towards the end. Mouthfeel very soft, medium thick and creamy. Good dubbel.

Dimmig brun öl med ett ljusbrunt skum. Söt doft med karamell, frukt och lättare jästtoner. I smaken tillkommer kryddighet från jästen och lättare nötiga toner.

A classic Dubbel, nice, complex flavors, as can be expected from a Trappist Ale, just not outstanding enough for me to be regarded special.

Backlog, Bottle with Pat in Jan 2010. Pours a plum shade with a medium foamy off white head. Notes of dark fruit, raisin, caramel, prunes, and grapes. Medium to heavier bodied with a fruity finish. Nice Dubbel.

33cl bottle. Dark amber colour with a big, though quickly fading beige head. Aroma of bread, plum, caramel with a note of fruit. The taste is nice, sweet, bready with a bit of coffee and a tad of alcohol. Does not seem like 7%, but in a good way.

Colore tonaca di frate, schiuma abbondante compatta mediamente persistente. Aroma inizialmente metallico poi frutta secca, prugna, uvetta, vaniglia. All'assaggio malti tostati, caramello, vaniglia uvette. Corpo leggero ed equilibrato, carbonazione media, finale dolce. Una delle migliori dubbel.

Nadherna vona. Ja som tam normalne citil banany :). Pekna kavova farba. No a samozrejme prijemna sladkasta chut.

My first Trappist Dubbel was quite pleasing. Although it pours to a thick beige head, it dissipated quickly in my Trappist glass. Smell was overwhelmingly fruity with a caramel finish. Color was an opaque reddish brown. Dark brown bottle was embossed with a Coat of Arms and the word "Trappist".
