"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

On tap at Radagast Biergarten, Brooklyn. Pours dense but not jazy chocolate color with a trace head. Big, sweet caramel aroma. Full cherry, chocolate and raisin flavor with a long, sweet tail. Body is full with almost no carbonation. Overall I’m not a fan of sweet beers, so it’s not a fav.

33 cl bottle bought from supermarket. Pours hazy brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, fruits: light banana & pear, brown sugar. Taste of caramel, fruits, roasted malt, brown bread. Light to medium body, average carbonation, medium bitter finish. Overall a good Belgian beer.

Bottle 0,33L. Clear, dark amber, red color with average, creamy light brown head. Very fruity aroma of apple, pear, banana and bubble gum. Taste starts light bitter with some sweetness and caramel, while finish turns to moderate bitter. Medium to full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation.

darkslave (11) - RUSSIA - OCT 23, 2017

Bottle from supermarket. Aroma: fruity, plums, red fruit, banana, caramel. Red to brown color, creamy head, thicker texture. Taste: caramel, plums, dried fruit. Good one.

La Trappe Koningshoeven dubbel trappist - bbd = 14/05/2000 Incredibly tasty, a bit dull however. But so much flavour for a 19 year old beer.

JoTheO (248) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 16, 2017
Bottle 330ml. Deep mahogany red-brown. Beige fluffy head. Rich aroma of sweet pears and plums. Taste is sweet with sugary notes, more of those pears and some light hint of vanilla. There is also a slightly sour metallic note which lowers my grade one notch.

ciocanelu (2938) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - OCT 16, 2017
Dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has brown sugar, red wine and some raisins. Taste starts with toasted malt, some caramelized sugar, dried fruit esters and some earthy hop bitterness on the finish which balances out the flavors quite well. Medium body with medium to high carbonation. A well made, drinkable dubbel with balanced flavors.
