"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

Brown coloured with a thin head. Initail taste is sweet then becomes more balanced leading to slight malt taste on the palate

Strong filtered ale with pleasant soft taste. With its 7% it feels like 10% beer. Some places write that it is caramel but it doesn’t feel that way.

Looks good. Aroma: caramel, brown sugar and dried fruit. Taste: brown sugar and caramel, some spice, very faint ripe banana and spice as well as something faintly liquorice-like. I was always under the impression I don’t like Belgian (style) / Dutch beers. I was wrong. Absolutely amazing.

750ml bottle. Pours an unclear ruby-brown with a large, creamy, short lived, beige head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, apple, plum, raisin, brown sugar, spice and yeast. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, raisin, cherry, plum, apple, overripe banana, brown sugar, spice, yeast and light alcohol in a dry finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very nice.

@ Bjllerdsvgen 8/8-17. Bottle from La Trappe Proeflocaal. Malty and overripe fruity with notes of caramel and spices. Body is medium, the finish is dried fruity with spicy notes.

It pours dark amber with some reddish hues. It has moderate head retention that is tan. It is also fairly clear. The initial aromas are malty rich with some fruit. Apples and dried cherries and prominent with some toast and a hint of chocolate. There are some rose like aromas in addition to the above. The apples and dried cherries are very prominent in the initial flavor with a bit of toast and low caramel in support. There is a bit of low floral in the background and very low raisin flavors. The balance is fairly even. It has a medium body with medium carbonation and some alcohol warmth that is smooth. Overall, it is a pleasant fruity-malty beer with depth and complexity especially in the fruit.

Final dulce. Postgusto a pasas.

At Ribs ’n Beer, Bruges. Pours hazy brown/amber with a small, lasting, frothy, off-white head. The aroma contains caramel, dark fruits (raisin), sugar, malt, hops and yeast. It tastes medium to heavy caramel-like sweet and light fruity sour with a medium long, light hoppy bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Modest, not overly complex, but enjoyable.

Bottle. Unclear dark red to brown colour, average, quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma: caramel, raisin, dried fruit, cherry, notes of yeast, spice, brown sugar. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter, of caramel, raisin, dried fruit, plum, cherry, yeasty, with notes of banana and brown sugar. Fruity, but rather empty finish. Medium- body, average carbonation. Very solid dubbel, quite complex, but not perfect.

Klar mörkbrun öl med fluffig men relativt liten skumkrona. Mycket olika maltsmaker, sötma, karamell, viss beska. Trevlig öl som är ganska Lättdrucken för sin klass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
