COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after brother Isidorus, Koningshoeven Abbey’s first brewer. Brewed to mark the occasion of the Trappist brewery’s 125th anniversary in 2009, Isid’or was so well received that it earned itself a permanent place in La Trappe’s line-up. Unfiltered, slightly sweet amber ale with a hint of caramel, which continues to ferment after bottling and has a rich, slightly bitter flavour, and a fruity aftertaste. Wheat & barley malts, Perle hop.

0,33l bottle. Hazy copper colour with quickly shrinking small off-white head. Aroma: Caramel, floral notes, biscuit, banana. Taste: Sweet rich malty start with a pleasent bitter and dry mouthfeel. Well balanced. Not too sweet not too bitter and the two caracter is in harmony. Medium body with medium carbonation. Long light bitter finish. A very good and drinkable belgian ale.

33 Cl Vanuxeem

Bottle. Bronze coloured beer with a strong slightly off white head. The aroma is lightly spiced, and the flavour is quite yeasty with spice and a vinous quality. Overall an average strong Belgian ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber quite hazy with whitish head. Aroma of fruit, yeast esters, mild hoppy. Flavour just the same: raisins, dried apricots, belgian yeast and a little bitter. Dry finish, low/medium carbonation, medium body. Pretty enjoyable.

From a 330ml bottle on2/1/2016. Pours a cloudy amber with a small, fizzy head. The smell is quite pleasant - typical Belgian yeastiness with some fruit notes. Take a sip and you get sweet caramel, toffee, honey and vanilla ice cream, with some raspberry and other fruity tartness. Mild bitterness, syrupy palate and quite lively carbonation. It all comes together very nicely indeed. A very good Belgian ale (and I’m not always the biggest fan of the style).
