COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after brother Isidorus, Koningshoeven Abbey’s first brewer. Brewed to mark the occasion of the Trappist brewery’s 125th anniversary in 2009, Isid’or was so well received that it earned itself a permanent place in La Trappe’s line-up. Unfiltered, slightly sweet amber ale with a hint of caramel, which continues to ferment after bottling and has a rich, slightly bitter flavour, and a fruity aftertaste. Wheat & barley malts, Perle hop.

McTapps (6889) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - DEC 13, 2012
Bottle bought in the Netherlands and shared with MichaelBruch. Deep golden-amber in colour with steady and creamy head. Taste of gentle and fine yeast, earthy leaves, breakfast cereals and sweet dough. Nice one but nothing overwhelming.

neongolden (1647) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 11, 2012
(750mL bottle from LCBO) Pours dark brownish-amber with a big creamy off-white head that left lots of lacing. Aroma sweet and malty with dried pit fruit, yeasty bread, spice. Flavour is pretty yeasty and grainy, but some dried apricots, spice, caramel malt sweetness. Booze hidden. Finishes a little spicy, and a bit bitter. Fairly light and easy-drinking Belgian with ample soft carbonation.

Marduk (7694) - Reval, ESTONIA - DEC 7, 2012
330ml bottle. Clear copper color. Nice off-white medium size head. Grainy, moldy, hay, malty aroma. Sweet, fruity, malty, alcohol and raisins in flavor.

dreamflower (790) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 2, 2012
Faint aroma, but I’m a bit plugged up. Caramel peach colour with creamy head and beautiful lacing. Tastes of apricot, peaches, and vanilla. I love this beer.

Hard to get the plastic cork out. Pours nicely into the Chimay glass; foamy brown on brown. Light aroma with some caramel toffee notes. Flavour is similar, soft body, light caramel, fruit and lighter yeast. I could have one of these every night.

ShivanDragon (4120) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2012 amber/oranje van kleur met minimale kraag
aroma: fruitig, appel, bloemen, iets van caramel
smaak: lichtzoet, caramel, fruitig
vrij lichte body mooi in balans qua smaken maar niet al te bijzonder afdronk is fruitig,
over het algemeen vrij lichte smakenpalet voor een 7.5% bier.

blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle [750ml] . Pours a cloudy amber-gold with a huge lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty along with a good amount of fruit, some malt, light alcohol and a hint of spice. Flavour is yeasty first followed by some fruit, spices and sweet malt. Alcohol is hidden in the flavour. Slightly spicy/bitter finish. Medium bodied. Slightly simple version of the style but this is a nice, easy-to-drink Belgian Ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

yiannnos (1254) - , CYPRUS - NOV 23, 2012
Amber colour. Malty yeasty aroma. Flavour is fruity, malty and belgian yeast.

2.7
JEK69 (396) - FRANCE - NOV 22, 2012
This is a simple trappist beer with malty and yeasty flavours. A bad metallic falvour spoils the profile. Crispy acid back taste make this beer quite drinkable but nothing fantastic in that brew.
