Nose had hay, corn, grass, a bit citric.
Pours clear yellow blond, white foamy head, small sparkling.
Taste had hay, citric as well, but weak taste.
Watery, soft bitter finish.
Disappointing for La Trappe, I usually like them more. ciaranc (1102) - Dublin, IRELAND - DEC 1, 2013
330ml bottle. Pale, straw coloured gold, cloudy, totally opaque, nice frothy white head, medium lasting. Nose has a little citrus, a little spice, coriander notes, zest and pithy notes, nice. Flavour falls a bit flat, some of the aromas carry through to the flavour ok, but lack of carbonation lets it down a little. Light, pretty watery body. Finish is ok too, same flavours follow all the way through. Bottle may not have been in the best condition. Juni88 (83) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 27, 2013
Was not sure what to expect from it, and after tasting it I still don’t know if I should define this as a blond beer. Perhaps something between pilsner and blonde. Its a little bit sweeter than pilsener but has quite some bitterness to it. Quite unique, but I like it. Passewaaij (327) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 16, 2013
Goudkleur, beetje bleekjes. Mooie laag schuim, veel koolzuur. Ruikt lekker, fris. Smaak valt tegen, nogal vlak. Geen bitter, geen zuurtje, niets. Maakun (5755) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 15, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 Slightly cloudy, very pale straw. Yeasty, lemon, grassy, almost witbier. Nice malts, fresh dough. Taste is lightly sweet with nice bitter finish. Mouth is thin, a bit watery. Overall: smells very nice, if it had more body it would live up more to what the smell promises.

33cl bottle from De Natuurwinkel. Clear golden with a medium white head. Light body with moderate carbonation. Bitter with some sweet notes. Grass, hops and citrus. A decent refreshing beer. cmc619 (501) - California, USA - NOV 2, 2013
All right, time for the full La Trappe tasting, starting with Puur. Visited the brewery in August after Amsterdam trip. Great place with beautiful biergarten on the abbey grounds. Picked up a souvenir: 8-pack reusable canvas bottle carrier with one bottle of every La Trappe brand.
So, Puur is a nice easy-to-drink ale with an unexpected hoppiness (for a Belgian-style, or at least Trappist, since this is actually made in the Netherlands). Maybe a bit on the watery side, but kind of a nice change of pace from the Trappist norms. kingstoni (2120) - FINLAND - OCT 16, 2013
Bottle. Clear golden color with a medium thin frothy white head. Fresh aroma of yeast, lemon and grain. Sweet taste with some bitterness. Medium thin body. Frothmeister (810) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 15, 2013
330ml bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow with a large fluffy white head. Aroma is mineral heavy, light yeast, malty notes, fruit notes. Starts sweet, followed by yeast, a light floral note, light banana, mineral notes, and some good spice in the finish. Think Duvel light. EddyBeer1 (1058) - Brussels, BELGIUM - OCT 5, 2013
Blonde dorée claire, effervescence quasi nulle de visu, légère au palais, mousse fine qui disparaît rapidement. Pour le reste, le profil est celui d’une pils de haute qualité. Etonnant de la part de producteurs d’une bière trappiste...
