0.375 l bottle from 'Holy Craft Beer Store', bottled in July 2016. A little hazy, ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit yeasty aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins and some marzipan. Quite sweet, malty, moderately fruity and slightly yeasty taste of caramel, molasses, marzipan, raisins, prunes and a touch of vanilla, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly yeasty and rather warming finish with a touch of booze. Above medium-bodied, moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Maybe not the best batch but still a very pleasant sipper with enough complexity. Shared at tasting @ Koelschtrinker's place. Smooth woody malty beginning. Deep and malty in one, round and refreshing for that ABV. Smooth and deep, wood with hints of Kirsch-Schnaps, only hints of wood. The aftertaste is soft fruity, malty deep with a nice fresh woody fruity aroma. Round and nice! Bottle 37.5cL. 11%. Purchase (La Cervoiserie, @Poitiers, FR). @Naintré, shared with my dad. A dark brown opaque beer with a small off-white foamy head ; medium retention. Roast, wood, light caramel, dried fruits (raisin), alcohol notes, vanilla. medium round sweet, lasting warming, light dry. Good body, elegant, light to medium oily texture, average carbonation, sweet woody vanilla lasting strong finish. Overall, great ! Maybe too sweet sugary ; I would like this batch again in several years.
