Bottle @ Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Shared with Thompson. Nice dark red glow coming through the dark brown color. Small white lacing on top. Smell sweet, slightly alcohol, lightly roasty. Taste wood, some kind of liquor, sweetness and slight roastyness. Nice lightly warming alcohol, good carbo, very nice pretty soft mouthfeel, medium to full body. thornecb (5911) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 15, 2011
Pours deep cloudy caramel into a snifter. White head recedes leaving spot lacing. Bubblegum and oak aromas. Dry, oaky caramel and vanilla upfront turning to bubblegum and banana in the lasting finish. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 15, 2011

375ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, oak, light Bourbon, dark ripe fruit, vanilla, coconut, and raisins. Poured deep amber/copper in color with a tiny, loose, tan head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is medium to heavily sweet. Tastes of malt, Bourbon, coconut, vanilla, oak, raisin, and dark ripe fruit. Medium body. Tingly, then slightly sticky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Malt, vanilla, coconut, Bourbon finish is medium sweet. 10%ABV is completely hidden throughout. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - SEP 10, 2011
Tastes side by side with Batch 2 and 6. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass brownish-orange, small head. Sweet-woody aroma. Starts mild, sweet-woody, modest dry. Fruity like peaches. The sweetness is definetly a bit too much for me. Finish a bit soapy. Not my favourite. beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - SEP 1, 2011
Bottle. Pours a dark brownish/amber color with a nice off white head. Aroma is basically dominated by oak, but I also get alot of sweetness, dark fruits and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is of dark fruits, caramel, toffee, sweet matls, a touch of alcohol and vanilla, oak and an almost smokey note. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty nice Quadrupel, and the oak aging does it good, still no where near as complex as Rochefort 10 or Westvleteren 12. Beerdedone (3408) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 31, 2011
375ml corked & caged bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a off-white head that left nice lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel, raisins, oak, vanilla, dark fruit and toffee. Rich & velvety flavor with oak, vanilla, caramel, raisins, alcohol, dark fruit and toffee. Medium to full body with a smooth sticky texture and had a dry finish thewolf (12594) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2011
Bottle, bought @ HJ Hansen, Odense.
Pours light unclear brownish-amber. Medium frothy, off-white head. Great lacing and duration. Aroma has figs, raisins, caramel, toasted oak, light smoke, red apples. Medium carbonation, light and rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is soft, lots of liqourice, oak, mild smoke, fat caramel, red apples. Some grapes. Fine and dry, mildly vinious finish. Good, but the regular La Trappe from 2000 we had next to it was better.
