Bottle to chalice. Sweet aroma with a hint of white wine. Sweet and dark fruit flavor with some nice dryness from the white wine. __Rb81 (789) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 5, 2014
On tap @ ’t Klooster (said 2011 white wine, so either batch # 5 or 6). Hazy amber to red with a small white head. Sweet floral aroma of malts. Very sweet taste, some white wine and booze, but mostly just sweet. Too sweet for me. Looking at the other ratings, I should probably try the bottle. Draught at ’t Klooster, Delft, 2,5 years old. Pours cloudy copper with a thick long lasting beige head. Aroma is caramel, wood, grapes, fruits, toast, floral and malts. Heavy sweet and light bitter. Barrel aging really smoothened this out and it’s my favourite of the bunch so far. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Very good! bigguns22 (798) - Maryland, USA - JAN 21, 2014
Pour is dark amber to brown with a small off white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, yeast and dark fruit. A very nice sipping beer with sherry type flavors and lite smoke and wood notes.

375 ml. bottle. Pours a dark, cloudy golden brown with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, malt, yeast, and florals. Taste is dark fruit, malt, caramel, yeast, vanilla, wood, and florals. Complex with not much alcohol presence. Top notch sipper!! madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2013

Cloudy dark red - brown beer. Small pale tan head. Palate is light and a little soft. Semi dry. Light sweet malt and wood. Estery floral notes and semi sweet tropical fruits. Mild malt cream before a dry finish. Unusual, although clearly of the La Trappe Oak Aged family, and tasty.
Reddish brown pour with legs. Caramel rasin prune mix of aromas. Big flavors of sweet molasses dark fruits and candi sugar. Very rich with a nice smooth balance. Very little carbonation, not much barrel flavors and a high price. But its very good. thewolf (12599) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 28, 2013

Pours deep brownish red with a small, creamy, off-white head that fizzes away. Aroma has lots of raisins, mild chocolate, mild oak, grape, light tannin. Low carbonation, fine dry and oily mouthfeel. Flavour has lovely grapes, red wine, vinious, walnuts, caramel, raisins and plums. Lovely warming finish.
Caramel colour, clear white head. Aroma of raisins, malts, caramel, sherry, dates, vanilla and oak. Quite sweet. Sweet flavour, bit dusty, raisins, wood, vanilla, dark fruits and caramel. Sweet finish, raisins, prunes, caramel, barrel notes. Great beer, ages well.
