375ml bottle, has been cellared since release. Aroma of sweet, dried fruit (apricot, golden raisin) and oak, with touches of white wine, light brown sugar, spicy, doughy, estery yeast, clove, pineapple and light but apparent alcohol. Deep, dark amber-brown in color, hazy and lightly sedimented (I made an effort to leave the dregs in the bottle this time), with a fine, lasting, uneven head. Flavor profile is similarly full of oak, lightly sugary sweetness and tropical fruit with winey touches here and there, peppery alcohol and a certain candyish, praline tone in the background. Finish shows some Calvados character(?). Hefty, smooth and lightly warming on the palate, body is full enough. I certainly decided to splurge a bit on this stuff and I enjoyed it. fonefan (48689) - VestJylland, DENMARK - OCT 17, 2012

Bottle 375ml. corked.
[ Courtesy of Countbeer / The Dutch RB Crew ]. Light unclear medium to dark red amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, wood, light alcohol - wine - grape. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, wood - oak. Quit balanced and nice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
Cork and caged bottle via SL. Pours a muddy red brown color.. when I popped the cork barely any carbonation response... Poured aggresive, no head to speak of. Decent amount of sediment in the bottom. Smells nice though. Raisons, plums, other dark fruits. Malty, raw brown sugar, with some oaky notes. Taste even better. Malty, brown sugar, raison, plums. The oak taste has just the right amount. All blended well togther. Body is oily, slick smooth.... carbonation level is low but far from flat. The alcohol is not noticable but slightly warming. Enjoyed sipping on this beer. 375ml bottle poured into a La Trappe chalice. Dark, cloudy amber with no head. Lots of floaties. Aroma is spice, cherry, oak. Lots of oak in the flavor with some cherry and a bit of alcohol burn. Very soft palate with little carbonation. Short cherry finish. Very nice sipping beer.

Medium-bodied, sweet with some big caramel. Some sweet caramel and a bit of chocolate. Warm and smooth, nice oak touches on the finish. bhensonb (15093) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 9, 2014

Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours murky brown with no head and a wine and molasses aroma. There is a toasty dark molasses flavor (a bit oxidized)with a sort of sweet and dry oak finish.
