ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Hazy amber beer, good pale tan head. Light smooth palate. Sweet malt with a trace of bubblegum. Sweetish peat whisky. Finishes minerally fresh. Semi dry. Nicely balanced for a peat whisky beer.
A clear light brown colored beer, with no head. The aroma of strong whisky flavors, some wood, peat and alcohol. The taste of whisky, sweet notes fruits, peat and alcohol notes. The aftertaste is sweet whiskey notes and alcohol tones. tkrjukoff (4334) - SWEDEN - FEB 13, 2012
Bottle 37,5 cl, SB. Pours cloudy dark copper amber with a good tense beige head leaving lace. Aroma is malty, toasted, a bit harsh, smokey and has the quadrupel characteristics as well. Flavor is a mix of alcohol, smokey peaty, barrel, malty, yeasty spicy, fruity and bitter, well in my taste. Finishes with a warming alcohol, spicy, bitter, malty and fruity. Lots of flavors, plenty of quad left and not too much of the barrel whiskey barrels as I was afraid of. fonefan (51072) - VestJylland, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2012

Bottle 375ml. @ chriso [ oh6gdx birthday bash tasting ].
Unclear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted - caramel, wood, oak, smoke - peat, medicine notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
0.375L bottle from Systembolaget, Nordstan. A firm medium-sized sand-colored head, upon shady amber brown body. Rich fruit aroma up front, quickly overpowered by strong notes of oak, peat and something liqueur-ish. Full body, full taste. Lots of dried fruits, and some sweet peppery and caramelly malts. Strong barrel notes, whisky-liqueur, alcohol and some peat tones. Surprisingly smooth in the mouth. Sweet, oaky liqueur finish. Powerfull and interesting with bold flavors, but I certainly prefer the more harmonious original (un-barreled) version.

Inget lyckat experiment. Men doften var riktigt fin. brown color, the brown foam disappears quitte quickly so there’s not really a head. The bitterness that the original La Trappe Quadrupel had, has become a more light bitterness, but this beer still has a full body. Also the sweetness is quitte balanced here. However there is a very very big whiskey taste and smell, that you have to like... (i do... very much...) oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 31, 2011

Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is peat, some sweet fruits, alcohol, toffee, fudge and some mild spicyness. Flavour is rather similar in a very smooth balance.
Bottle. Pours a dark golden amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty oaky spicy yeasty aroma. Sweetish malty oaky and weak smoky spicy caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy oaky smoky finish. gunnar (9696) - Sandnes, NORWAY - DEC 25, 2011
Bottle from Systembolaget, Nordstan, Gøteborg. Pours cloudy dark amber with a small white head. Aroma of peat and whisky. Taste is smooth like velvet, moderate sweet malty with a distinct whisky note towards the end, easy alcohol burn as well. Pleasant surprise.
