Hazy maple syrup colored pour. Thin head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of peat and cherries. Taste is smokey, flavors from the different Scotch barrels are predominant with a peaty, cherry lingering finish.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2016 Sampled from 0.375 l bottle. Hazy, dark reddish brown with some beige bubbles on top. Slightly sweetish, rather peaty aroma of peat, ash, iodone and some caramel. Sweetish-malty, quite peaty taste of caramel, ash, iodine, raisins and prunes, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, rather peaty and a bit warming finish. Flavours of light toast, peat, iodone, light earthy, prunes, some dried leaves, light bitter, bandage, tobacco...
Aftertaste is a mix of bitter with prunes, peat, toast, iodine and earthy tobacco...
No carbo, lightly thicker than watery mouthfeel, bit more than medium bodied.
Guess the plastic cork destroys these beers...

Note: after hoarding the oldest of these beers for over 5 years, I decided to crack down on them, before they disintegrate.
Clear red brown beer, no head. Aroma: lots of peat, caramel, sweet malts, dried fruits, milk chocolate, bit spicy. MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very peated, leathery, bit sourish, fruity touch, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: peat, some alcohol, leathery touch, more peat, cocoa powder.

(Bottle labeled as batch: K03E11) After wrestling the cork out, the first thing I notice about this is that it appears to be almost still. The aroma has notes of red wine, tannins, peat, and alcohol. Pours a clear dark ruby, with no head, and very little visible carbonation. Very complex flavor, with peat coming through initially, with some burnt notes as well. There’s still quite a bit of sweetness in this, which helps to mask the alcohol a bit. The booze still comes through with some warming notes in the finish. Slippery mouthfeel, and completely still. There’s no carbonation at all, which would really help this beer out. Overall, with this bottle, I don’t think it was worth the price. Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours medium brown with virtually no head and a sweet malty aroma. There is a rather flat dark molasses flavor with lots of scotchand a peaty finish.
