BATCH 8 is blended in October 2011.
- Whisky pre used 71%

In flavour surely the most extreme La Trappe blend to date. Besides the full whisky flavour there is a lot of new oak in this blend, which makes this blend a unique marriage of wood-tannins and whisky associations.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy deep amber with a lacing off-white head. Some sweet brown sugar and phenols in the nose, but also quite some ashy peat. Medium body, some sweet caramel and light phenols and again quite peat. Not pleasant. 080512

Hazy brown beer with a tidy cream coloured head. Mildly TCP whisky nose. Palate is smooth and dry. Dry malt and sweetish TCP whisky. Touch of dried fruits. Dry finish. More TCP than I want but its quite drinkable.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Paul. Pours clear amber with a slight, creamy tan head. The nose holds golden raisins, some bread, toffee. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a bit of smoked meat, candied ham, bread, caramel, dried fruits. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with lots of stewed fruits, soft peat, bread, toast, more golden raisins. Pretty tasty overall.

Theydon_Bois (18935) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2014
Bottle split at Bruces pad, thanks to Bropey - who has become very much the Quad Pimp of late, 24/10/14. Murky chestnut brown with moderate beige spotting and edgework. Nose is light smoke, toffee fudge, burnt sugars, dark fruit rinds, light TCP. Taste comprises rich malt, toffee, spice, light peaty smokey wash, brown sugars, woody rinse. Medium + body, fine carbonation, sweet licks in the close. Decent quad, the smoke element allied to a touch of bitterness tempers the sweetness and keeps this drinkable.

brokensail (16401) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Pours a dark amber color with an off-white head. The nose is sweet and caramelly up front with some dark fruits. Very, very intense smoke, peat, and oak on the nose. Smells intensely of scotch. A bit of vanilla and maybe some nuttiness. The flavor is overwhelmed by the smoke and peat character. A bit of char and oak, and light vanilla sweetness. Some caramel and dark fruits, but theyre really just overpowered.
