RBESG 2013. Draught at Kulminator, Antwerp. Hazy golden/copper beer with a nice beige/yellowish head. Fruity woody aroma, dades, raisins, prunes, vanilla, marcipan, toffee, oak, vinous, plums, nutty notes. Fruity vinous flavor, raisins, prunes, warming alcohol, hay, banana notes, vanilla, dades, caramel, grapes, some hazelnuts. Very nice beer with alcohol well hidden. UPDATED: JAN 25, 2012 Hazy red / brown / dark amber color, average white head. Smell sweet, malts, caramel and wood. Taste about the same. Nice mouthfeel.

Tap at the Kulminator. Definitely the dregs of the keg....It pours murky, muddy brown with a medium beige head. The nose is wood, earth, dark fruit, spice, candy and caramel. The taste is caramel, earth, roast, candy, dark fruit, wood, decent bitterness, alcohol warmth, toast and chalk with a dry, earthy finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Pours hazy red amber with a nice, small, staying, off-white film head. Aroma is oaky, caramel, dried fruits, yeast, vanilla, light chocolate. Soft carbonation, impressive oily mouthfeel. Flavour has notes of red apples, banana, raisins, oak, caramel, lightly vinious with fine vanilla notes. Not as good as the 5-year old regular one, I had the day before, but still very nice.
Bottled at the Brugge beer festival. I had about 4 classes of this over the two days. This beer stood out from the other 287 beers at the festival. Dark brown burnt orange in colour with a fleeting head. Aroma is a sweet rich bourbon with carmel and toffee. The taste is rich and complex with toffee raisin with the warm bourbon taste lasting on a long while. The taste also has elements of the oak with a woody character. Tasted this side by side with the standard Quadrupel and you can definately tell they are the same beer. The oak aging does add a lot to this beer. Tap at Kulminator. Tangerine, peach aroma. Hazy yellow orange color with minimal head. Sweet banana, tangerine, malt flavor. Nice easy drinking beer - very pleasant.
