COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Pours a deep auburn with good foamy head. Smells of bready malt, yeast and booze. Is a sticky beer, probably from the use of Belgian candied sugars. Exquisite ale with properties similar to port; a good after-dinner quaff. Tastes of prune, black cherry, tart, sticky sweetness, boozy yeast and an obvious inclusion of big aforementioned bready malt. A well balanced beer. I liked the original version better than the oak aged Quad that La Trappe offers for almost 2x the price! Always seem to come back to this one. One of my favorites.

Barwa bursztynowa z miedzianymi przebłyskami, piana mała. Aromat wiśni w likierze, czerwonych owoców, karmelu, bakalii. W smaku wiśnie, karmel, rodzynki, figi, drożdże,. Pieknie i bogato. Alko całkowicie niewyczuwalne. Świetne pifko.

Clear amber color with light beige foam. Aroma has belgian sugar and yeast esters with some dried fruit notes. Taste starts sweet and malty with sugar and booze notes but gets more astringent and quite bitter on the finish with some earthy/woody notes and alcohol warmth. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Not really my thing, too boozy and it lacks some flavor complexity.

Ocena na podst. notatek - celem uzupełnienia profilu. Pite zaraz po st. bernadrus 12 - dla mnie wybitnego quad. La trappe jednak półkę niżej ale i tak klasa.

Piepenhenrich (1195) - Steinbach, GERMANY - OCT 8, 2017
Strong, dark/amber, rich in taste, complex, full-bodied, all that can be expected from a Quadruple. A bit of an alcoholic taste as a downside, although reasonable given its strength. Good.

Nice beer. Actually finally I know what it reminds me, as in many beers - AFTERTASTE OF PUMPKIN. Meady-honey notes and taste, hoppy, malty, heaty. Very nice beer. I think it is sweeter than other trappist/quad beers. Drinkable, you feel the alcohol after you finish the beer... - time for bed.
