COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Lukaduke's rating

3.2
Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Pours a medium copper color with a two finger foam that settles out fairly quickly. On the nose there is a big dose of banana bread, sweet brown sugar, light warm spice and a bit of fig too, The palate is a lot of the same and my mind keeps going back to the banana bread flavors... chewy spice with a mild yeasty backbone leads to a pretty clean focused finish. Not bad but doesn’t stand up to some other quads in its price brackett.

Sweet sweet sweet, strong caramel aroma. Nice aftertaste, almost not a beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

CraftyHare (69) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - JUN 24, 2017
2016 330ml bottle pours deep amber with medium beige head with fine bubbles. Typical Trappist beer aromas of bread, dried fruit, sugar and alcohol. Flavours dominated by caramel malt, toffee, nuttiness, yeast, marzipan and spices. Not much bitterness, but maintains its syrupy sweet quality well into the finish. Sweeter than your average Trappist quad, but hides the alcohol nicely.

Magnifique quadruple arborant une belle robe orange. Puissante et goûteuse elle est une vraie perle. Un must have pour chaque amateur de bonne bière.

Copper to light brow colour, average sized head. Malty and spicy aroma, hops is also noticable. Heavy malty taste and pretty sweet. Alcohol harshness is not there but it delivers warming sensation. Average carbonation, long sweet finish.

Slightly hazy amber. Sweet, caramel aroma. Quite high carbonation with a slightly burned, fruity sweet taste. Well balanced with bitterness at the end. One of the best quads.

Rødbrun farge med hvitt luftig skum. Lukter av belgisk gjær, alkohol. Medium fylde. Dette var en god øl..

Bottle from Andersons. Nose is plum and smoky dark esters. Super smooth and sweeter side of a quad. Weak carbonation. Complex with malts and dark sugars and bitterness hidden. Smooth and a solid beer. Would do again. Top 5 quads.

Belle couleur ambrée avec une fine mousse. Goût de levure. Agréable en bouche sucrée et amertume légère. Quasi parfaite.
