La Trappe Tripels aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5

Bottle at the Royal Standard, Cambridge. Golden and clear with a small white head. Apple, sandalwood, nutmeg in the singular aroma... sure doesnt smell like a Tripel. Tastes like a Tripel though. Sweet, spicy and yeasty with a lightness that belies the ABV. Not the best of the range but worth drinking. A fitting end to the evening.

In the glass pours a dark blond unclear beer with a small to medium size white undense not long lasting head. The aroma is very pleasant. It smells fruity, spicy and yeasty. The first thing that pops in my mind when drinking this Abbey is carbonation, a tad to much for my personal taste. It tastes very similar to its aroma but in a different order. First its yeasty, then fruity and lastly spicy. Its quite complex but not too much. Medium long and kinda dry gassy aftertaste. After a while its easier to drink since some carbonation is leaving. In Sum its ok to good but not my favorite Tripel.

Bottle from the abbey shop, pours deep gold with a head that settles very fine & thin. Spices and a little banana and honey on the nose. Spicy dry bitterness over sweet golden malt, leading to a peppery bitter and lightly honeyed finish.

Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into a trappist glass. Appearance: Hazy orange colour, with small lively foam/carbonation (like a little spring). Aroma: Banana, pear, citrus Palate: Full body, moderate carbonation with many small nibbling bubbles. Taste: Hint of sweetness, caramel, banana, bread, moderate bitter aftertaste. Overall impression: Enjoyable, tasty.

330 ml bottle. Pours a nearly clear dark yellow with a white head. The aroma is yeasty (dough) with some herbal hoppy notes. Full body with an oily texture and a low carbonation. The taste is of medium sweetness and a light bitterness towards the finish. The flavor is malty - caramel, almond, cloves - along with some light fruity notes (orange) and some noticeable alcohol.
