La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5°

Nice color, but head didn’t pour very thick and faded fast. Aroma is strong, caramel and butterscotch. Taste is a bit mellower, but on target for the style. A pretty good tripel.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with a big frothy head and lovely lacing. Aroma is estery and fruity. Oranges. Taste is oranges, citrus fruits, spicy coriander and some yeast. A little bit of sweetness is followed by a long bitter hoppy finish. Medium to strong carbonation. Nice Tripel.

Bottle. Nose is quite malty. Taste malty as well, but with a very sweet finish. Notes of dades. Full body.

From bottle. Apperance is golden, clear. Aroma fruity, sweet not very strong. Taste sweet and quite bitter to be a triple. Or perhaps simply on that side of the continium of triples. It lacks a bit of the acid that the ones I would call the very, very best have. But it is truly an excellent beer.

From old tasting notes. Cloudy Amber orange color. Thick rocky beige head. Spicy, sweet malt nose hints at allspice. Bittersweet complex malt flavor has notes of yeastiness and fruit. Bitter complex hop finish. Long complex aftertaste.
