La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5°

25.4 oz bottle. Hazy brown with a snowy white head. Nose is apricot, peach, yeast and candi with hints of banana and clove. Medium body, slightly syrupy with a tingle finishing dry. Taste is over ripe peach and plum, plastic and paper. Lingering bitter grass and stale bubblegum.

0.33l bottle from Belga Sörök Háza. Dark golden colour body, opaque, hazy. Foam is not very persistent. Aroma is complex, intensive. Orange, mandarin, peach, honey, flowers, spices. Great! Taste is similarly complex, dominantly fresh, fruity with moderate yeasty, bitter aftertaste. Bit of alcohol detectable. Carbonation is a bit stronger than what I like, palate is fizzy. But the overall impression is charming, this is a great tripel, even if not the best trappist...

Pure golden pour with a fluffy white head and spritzy carbonation. Big punch of yeast esters and blossom on the nose. You can smell the candy sugar on this one. A nice doughy smell as the beer opens up. There's a bit of clove and cracked black pepper. In the mouth it is honey forward, with stone fruits in the mid palate. There is a note of spoilt lager, but I think that's more this particular bottle than a symptom of the beer. Ends on honey and apple. Gets better as you go.

amsandor (2) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 19, 2017 does not count
A sweet tasting beer with a wonderful colour. Hints of fruit, and a strong dough flavour on the tongue and nose. Has a bitter, almost soapy aftertaste. A much lighter taste than the 8% implies. An easy drinking beer. Certainly not the best beer I have ever tasted, but an enjoyably light taste with a heavy alcohol content makes this a great lounge / patio beer. Pairs well with cheeses and meats, and a nice medium / light bodied cigar.
