La Trappe Tripels aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5

330ml bottle poured into a chalice glass. Early 2010 release.

A surprisingly muddy deep amber colour. The head retention and lacing are impressive, though.

The aroma is not that intense, possibly due to the age of the bottle. Still, Im able to get some nice fruitiness, with apple and pear notes, as well as a bready yeastiness and some caramel.

This is not your typical tripel! More on the fruity and malty side of things, with almost a candied apple kind of taste to it, with some hop bitterness at the back. A little peppery and moderately sweet. Closer to reaching the bottom of the glass, I started to get a more white wine kind of texture to the beer.

Medium-bodied. The alcohol can be felt, both in the body and on the palate. However, overall the mouthfeel is quite balanced, with just enough of everything: sweetness, bitterness, spiciness...

Drinks well, though not as smoothly as, say, Chimay White or other Trappist tripels.

Overall, this was quite different from your typical quality tripel, but I still liked it.

bottle, not aged so much in bottle after being bought as date was 2019 expiration, dry and flat (no strong bitterness), limited to no aftertaste, no lingering taste, not so bitter, little fruity, little alcohol punch. tastes like dried fruit. Creamy feel. Left it and went back but no difference.

Pullo @ Alko. Kaatuu tulpaaniin vaalean kultaisena ja kirkkaana, noin 2,5 sormen paksuisella vaahdolla ja nyttisi olevan reilun hiilihappoinen. Tuoksussa on tuhtia mausteista belgihiivaisuutta, hieman yrttisyytt sek kirpen sitruunaista otetta, joka kntyy hieman sitruunankuoriseksi jossain vaiheessa. Viljaista maltaisuuttakin on selvsti. Perusvahva esitys, muttei erotu edukseen selkesti mitenkn, vaikka onkin laadukkaasti tehty. LIev sitruunankuorisuus ei omaan makuuni riit viel. Laadukas tekele tosin ja koska tripel on suosikkityylejni, keskiverto esityskin riitt hyviin kokonaispisteisiin.
