3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle poured into a chalice glass. Early 2010 release.
A surprisingly muddy deep amber colour. The head retention and lacing are impressive, though.
The aroma is not that intense, possibly due to the age of the bottle. Still, I’m able to get some nice fruitiness, with apple and pear notes, as well as a bready yeastiness and some caramel.
This is not your typical tripel! More on the fruity and malty side of things, with almost a candied apple kind of taste to it, with some hop bitterness at the back. A little peppery and moderately sweet. Closer to reaching the bottom of the glass, I started to get a more white wine kind of texture to the beer.
Medium-bodied. The alcohol can be felt, both in the body and on the palate. However, overall the mouthfeel is quite balanced, with just enough of everything: sweetness, bitterness, spiciness...
Drinks well, though not as smoothly as, say, Chimay White or other Trappist tripels.
Overall, this was quite different from your typical quality tripel, but I still liked it.
Barwa złota, piana mała.
W aromacie brzoskwinie, banan, przyprawy, drożdże.
W smaku fenolowe, drożdżowe, owocowe. Dość mocno nasycone. Alko w zasadzie niewyczuwalne ale fajnie grzeje.
Bardzo fajne pifko.

Bottle. Hazy dark golden colour with a large white head, nose is yeasty, fruity and slightly bready with notes of banana, pear, caramel and a clearly noticeable booziness, taste is sweet and boozy with a moderately dry finish, notes of honey in the aftertaste, a high carbonation and a oily yet a bit thin palate considering the abv.
