COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

@ Bjllerdsvgen 7/8-17. Bottle from La Trappe Proeflocaal. Wheaty, yeasty and spicy, also light fruity. Body is light, the finish is dry and spicy.

(330 ml bottle) Pours a hazy lemon-yellow beer, with roaring medium carbonation, forming a rocky white head. A refreshing aroma of banana and lemon, fresh malt, wheat, kiwi, pear, clove, and some biscuity malt. Pleasantly sweet on the palate, and a soft, chalky mouthfeel.

Whilst a more intense aroma would benefit this beer, it’s pleasant, well-balanced, and refreshing.

This is far from being the most spectacular offering I’ve had from La Trappe, but it’s a perfectly tasty and refreshing summer ale. Yellow color and white foam on top. Clove, banana, and lemon aromas and flavors. Medium carbonation and a light, thin feel. Not bad at all, but I prefer La Trappe’s more traditional Trappist offerings.

A bottle from L’Apero, drunk at home. Aroma: rather sour. Appearance: slightly hazy gold, minimal head. Palate: medium-bodied and a bit thin, average carbonation, finish is a bit abrupt. Taste: lightly sweet, some banana and pear drops. Not much happening, I would expect more sweetness.

I bought this bottle from the Manora in Geneva, coming probably from Amstein. I drank it tonight in my hotel room in Paris. The limit to drink it 06/2018. They say the unique wheat trappist beer. In my point of view, it is not a bad one, regular for the style, a bit less personnailty than the hooegarden. The color is a charmant yellow/creamy body, average carbonation for the style, decent white foam. The taste is well-balanced, strong notes of wheat, some coriander, few orange skin and banana influence. It makes the job to be refresh.

33cl bottle at home on 09-Jul-2017. Hazy pale colour with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat and grain. Light body and medium carbonation. Taste of orange, lemon, sweet malt, wheat, spices and yeas. Light and refreshing but a leaving a sweet sticky finish on the palate.
