Dark brown, small light mocha cap with decent retention. Cocoa grainy biscuits and abbey-style spicy yeasts on the nose. Some coffee tin, some soft caramel, too. The taste "surprises" with some hop from the start, bringing some earthy dried tobacco notes, followed by some deep toasted malts, some spicy-peppery yeasts and even a pinch of dry alcohol. But it doesn’t take me back to the usual top-tier dubbels. Aftertaste is dry and kinda earthy, with some alcohol and some dusty crushed dark biscuits. Medium to light body, hearty carbonation. A personal twist on a dubbel, a decent, refreshing Belgian dark ale. The whole 0.75l bottle went down rather easily. strap (937) - Sindelfingen, GERMANY - JAN 15, 2017

Bottle, 0.75l. Pours thick hazy amber/muddy brown body with big and frothy beige head. Good lacing and retention. Smell is really nice, herbal and fruity with a hint of caramel.
Medium body with thick texture, softly carbonated. Lovely balanced bittersweet taste with a touch of alcohol on the tongue. Aroma of malts, yeast, wheat, brown sugar, raisins, berries, caramel and toffee. Herbal and bready. Slightly sticky mouthfeel with dry and somewhat boozy finish.
Overall, really nice. 77ships (9949) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 2, 2016
Thanks to Kraddel! 750 ml. bottle sampled. Dark red amber, little tanned. Nose is raisin, sweet sugar, rather soapy, decent dark fruit, light oxidation. Taste is raisin, low overripe dark fruit, rather soapy, candy, bit metallic, herbal, candy, caramel, leaves,… Body is sweet, sugar, soap. Decent for the style, not bad, touch too soapy, lightly metallic. Not top but rather decent.

Bottled 750ml. -from Mercator Brežice. Dark amber coloured, medium sized beige head, pleasant nutty chocolate nose. Moderate sweet malty, caramel, yeast and spices with mild nutty notes in the finish. Pretty dry finish also with a whiff of chocolate, overall very good beer. Much better and almost 2.50€ cheaper (8.79€/10.99€) than their "white brothers" (Blonde and Belle d’Ete). CanCrusher (1084) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - FEB 11, 2016
Bottle 0,75L bought at local supermarket. Clear, dark amber color with lively visible carbonation and small, frothy, light brown head, that almost dissipate in a minute. Poor aroma of cocoa, caramel and malt. Taste is light bitter with a hint of chocolate, nuts and dried fruits. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Decent Belgian brew.
