guitartown (187) - SPAIN - JUN 19, 2017

Bonne lager.

Gangstergafje (1105) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - JUN 8, 2017
08-06-2017; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their June discovery box). The looks of the beer are rather simple. It looks just like a regular lager beer. The color of the beer is golden yellow and the beer is very clear, accept for a tiny haze. On top of the beer a rough layer of white fast collapsing foam is poured. The majority of the foam collapses within seconds. The smell of the beer is nice, but not very special. Quite strong though, for a simple beer. I smell a nice malty base, with some nice aroma’s of fruity hops on top. There is also that familiar Dortmund smell. It is nice. The taste is even better than the smell. There is the same maltiness at first, followed by lovely bitter hops and at the end a soft, rather sweet and creamy flavour that is present in more Dortmunder beers. I like this one. It gives a lot of flavour to the beer. The beer is in good balance. Not bad. For a beer with such simple looks, there sure is a lot of flavour and smell. The palate of the beer is fine. Light body, smooth and almost creamy and high carbonation. The finish is nice, contains some hops and a lovely bitterness, that is quite aromatic. I really like this one. Easy drinkable, yet flavourful and special. There aren’t a lot beers like that. Nice.

lithilorn (284) - Covilhã, PORTUGAL - JUN 3, 2017
