Floral, grass; amble brown; toast, light, less taste; thin texture; drink again? Maybe not FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 13, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a large creamy/soapy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy sugar, faint honey and a touch of tropical fruits. The flavor was very sweet and tangy with vague citrus, honey and tropical fruits. Medium length tangy finish with lingering citrus and honey. Moderately full bodied. jgb9348 (6257) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 15, 2012
Clear copper coloured body with a slight hint of an amber glow and a thinnish, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light malt, toffee, caramel and a hint of nutmeg - not much though. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour up front with a lot of toffee and caramelised sugars and a bit of alcohol noticeable with the malt at the end. Aftertaste fairly one dimensional with toffee and malt and not much else aside from bitterness and alcohol. Overall not such a great beer, but that was expected - neat to see in a bottle like this and nice to try, but not much more than that. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle (brews collection, retro labeling) purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-April-2012 for US$1.35 sampled at home in Washington on 15-September-2012. Bottle into a goblet. Pour is brown gold with a fine head. Aroma is very faint malt. Taste is malt sugar, very sweet. Finish is clean with sweetness. LinusStick (3461) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Blah. Not a good Marzen. Wasn’t expecting much and it lived up to my expectations. Aroma was weak. Slight hints of caramel malt but not very detectable. Very lager-y smell with hints of aluminum. Pour was cloudy light gold with a thin white film for a head. Follows the trend of this style becoming lighter and lighter. Taste was very bland, but not awful. Just nothing there. Hints of caramel, burnt bread and not much else. After the swallow nothing is left but a slight tingle from the medium carbonation. I’d put this on the same level as B-M-C beers.

This was a sampler pack from Labatt, Seasonal... I guess.
I really like marzen beers in general.
This was a paler than expected orange with a small off white head.
The flavor pretty malty, but a touch more bitter than sweet. the beer is fairly light bodied, and crisp.
An ok Marzen.

my bottle also says limited edition brewers collection, made in the USA. pour is like a pale lager. nice thinnish creamy head. smell is simply clean and fresh. quite strong initially and almost comes across alky rude. must be around 6%. yes, just a little more than this lager lover can appreciate. goodly co2 in this apparent higher gravity lager beer. the sizzle saves it from being a boner. does not mellow thru the session. I’m glad my son likes to buy the different cheap beers. That way I can try acouple without having to buy the case. Bottle. Dark hazy amber with small head that diminished quickly. Moderate aroma of hops and sweet caramel. Medium body. Moderate balanced flavors with a moderate sweet finish. jb (3253) - Rochester, New York, USA - OCT 1, 2011
This might be contract brewed by Genny - Rochester. Part of a mixed case. ’Brewers Collection Limited Edition’. Spicy nose, vegetables, floral hops. Palate is mild, inoffensive, a bit of malt, some depth. Appearance is clear dark gold.
