Decent beer, very refreshing would suit a summer day and a ploughmans lunch presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 18, 2007
Pint of the "house" beer at Regal Beagle actually half a pitcher. The "short" pour in this case was the big one. Held a good head on a gold beer. Tasted like malt liquor without the malt and without the liquor. Just an off alcohol taste, mixed sweetness and weird off-grainy flavours. The wings helped make the beer go down easier. Piping hot big salt-n-pepper wings. Oakes (18851) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 31, 2006
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2007 Bright pale yellow colour with a very perfect inch-thick (artificially stabilized) head. The aroma is light pale malt, fresh and breezy. Flavour is sweetish, but more balanced than most macrobrews. The malts are again very clean and breezy. The finish shows a hint of flowery hop as well. As clean and balanced a beer as I’ve had from Labatts. Well worth the trip out to Esquisurrey...I was hoping for a debacle and instead got a really nice macrobrew.CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 20, 2006
Update: Hey Vancouver! Winchester is on tap at Hippo’s Sports Bar at Fraser & Marine. And it’s quite a bit worse than the stuff I rated at the Tudor House. Don’t delay!
(Draught) Sampled at Tudor House in Esquimalt for $2.75/sleeve. They wash the tabletops with fortified vinegar at Tudor House so its difficult to make the aroma - nose of banana Runts and lemon. Cleaar, very mild carbonation. Flavour is somewhat clean with only a mild maltedness and 2% milk in the finish.
