The peaty malt gave it a smoked aroma which wasn’t so present in the taste.
(50 cl bottle from Saveur Biere) Pours a hazzy amber with rich head. Decent retention and good lace. Another megagusher from Pays Flamand / LaBelle, which detracts from the appearance because of yeast floaties that get disturbed. If you put a thumb to the tip of the bottle for five seconds once you remove it you will hear a "poof" because of the excessive carbonation escaping the bottle. Peaty aroma remniscient of Serie Noire. Relatively harmonic though although a bit surprising for a beer of this appearance. After a while the peaty aroma notes seem to even out a bit - possibly because of the carbonation transporting them away - making room for a bit more yeasty notes that remind you of the biere de garde base beer. Amusingly the fusion of peat and biere de garde creates associative hints of banana and caramel, which are probably not in there. Oily texture, medium body, fizzy carbonation and a long, peaty, slightly sweet yet astringent finish. Flavour is banana, yeast and peat. I understand other raters being impressed by the cojones of the brewer of this beer. It’s definitely not conventional and worth a tasting. bierkoning (13243) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - OCT 7, 2013
Bottle. Golden blonde, hazy. Peaty smoke in the aroma. Malty, fairly dry peaty flavor with pineapple and peach. Well balanced. Firm peaty smoky aftertaste. Good. kraddel (7779) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - SEP 29, 2013

Courtesy & thx! to Benzai. Sampled 50 cl. bottle @ the some people are tired tasting. Hotel post day #1 @ Borefts 2013. HUGE GUSHER. Hazy golden. Medicinal nose, peated Islay malts, plastic & bitter herbs. Taste is plastic peated malts, Islay style, yoghurt, white bread, white sugar, contradictory mix, this seems a bit off, bitter herbs in the back, huge yeast & spices. Big yeast body. Benzai gave some to Kraddel who spit it out after tasting it, hilarious. Benzai also gave some to Menno who noted “the brewer who made this had some serious balls”, he makes a good point, comes to show that a brewer can shine an entirely different perspective upon these things etc. provide valid insights. Overall not entirely bad, not wholly correct either.

Sampled from bottle @ the some people are tired tasting (after borefts 2013 day 1). Extreme gusher indeed, I should have been more careful, but thanks to EricKok for getting me yhe bottle. Hazy yellow to orange color, medium sized white head. Smell malts, smoke, a slight sourness probably due to the smoke. Tastes about the same. Not bad but a little bit weird I’d say. Dark blond, medium carbonation. Well balanced between sweet and bitter. Roasted malts and peat. Smoky finish. Also some fruitiness. Good beer!
