Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a brown color with a small off-white head. Has a malty nutty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty nutty caramel flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a malty finish with some nutty hints in the aftertaste.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear nut brown. Perfumy, roasty malt aroma. Dryish with rounded mouthfeel and solid body. Well hopped with notes of citrus and herbal spices. Well balanced. I enjoyed it.

fiulijn (20514) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 29, 2014
Draught at the brewpub, 6% ABV
Cloudy dark amber color. The aroma is lightly dusty; the mouthfeel is slightly less dry than the other beers here; malt and caramel flavor, a bit roasty, lightly ashy, with correct bitterness.
Nice beer.

On tap at LaConner, pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Nose brings out toasted caramel and toasted bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted caramel, bready malt and butterscotch. Pretty nice dynamics to this - slightly more interesting than the average brown ale. Solid.

Light hazelnut brown colour with a very big hazelnut aroma. It’s a local crop, so I wonder if they’ve actually got some in there. Harsh astringency, minerally, brackish...this is really tough to drink. The bitterness has come out all wrong, and the malts don’t offer much save a light hazelnut note. Totally undrinkable. I only wish this was a cookie-cutter brown.

jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 5, 2007
on tap-pours a thin retaining off white head that laces and hazy amber color. Aroma is mild medium malt-molasses/brown sugar. Taste is peat, medium malt, secondary earthy hops.

JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 21, 2005
Deep brown colour, thin light brown head. Very sweet and nutty aroma, brown sugar and a bit toffeeish. Flavour is super sweet and sugary with some nutty malts, light bitterness and faint astringency. Overly sweet, but I’ve had worse.

3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 6, 2005
Draught at the brewery
Clear medium brown color. Some tobacco, maple, and some simple wood and nut notes. Dry palate. Smells like maple syrup, very sweet, with peanuts as well. Drinkable, palatable, but simple. Some spices and chocolate in the finish are redeeming.
