This one just did not sit right - I had high expectations for it. It had absolutely no head to it whatsoever on a nectar colored orangeish pour with lots of floating sediment. Aroma - kind of a "BO" (body odor) smell to it - not pleasant at all - but you can tell it is trying to be sprucey and citrusy but it gets beaten back. That same odd BO sense carries over to the flavor. There are some citrusy notes that save it from being a drainpour though. Finishes with an odd artificial aftertaste.

The bitterness of this one seemed quite sharp, caught me off gaurd. Pine, herbs, fruit, and sticky malts make up the aroma. Full bodied beer that finishes super bitter (for the body and color) with an exploding grapefruit rind. Turns soapy and a little grassy.

Deep amber color with little head. Had alot of the citrus hops in the aroma and also in the bitter taste.

Sampled @ Pizza Port Real Ale Festival 2003. Dark apricot colored brew with no head. Amazing piney/citrus nose.Good full body.Full of tropical fruit notes. A little citrus sweetness front with a good hop bitterness finish. One of the fest highlights imo.

(cask) Golden color with grapefruit hop notes rising up the nose..Bitter but balanced with nice fresh hop flavors like a medley of grapefruits and cloves..not too sticky.

Orange and cloudy. initial flavor of pine that gives way to a grapefruit like ctrusyness. Flowery, perfumy aroma, which the brewer told me was the result of Amarillo hops. Notes of black Pepper are felt in the finish.

This cloudy orange unfiltered IPA had a strong grapefruit maybe even an orange like aroma. Upfront lightly carbonated and medium bodied with creamy hop flavors that are bombarded with a long harsh bitter aftertaste.

Verne (263) - Enumclaw, Washington, USA - FEB 23, 2003
Sampled at the LaConner Brewing Companies brew pub

A little cloudy, light brown with an orange tint, fast fading head, light lacing holds on. Strong aroma of northwest hops, citrus with just a hint of flowers, this beer seems to be heavily dry hopped. A nice rich malt flavor that ads a very mild sweetness to the flavor, but over all it has a dry character. This beer is a hop bomb and one of the best you will ever have. A perfect American IPA. Balance what balance were talking hops

Good IPA. Hopped with centinnel or cascade or both, but well hopped. Somewhat coloudy in appearance, orange in color. Bitter in the way I'd expect an IPA, with some crystal malt sweetness. I like it!

I remember drinking this one when I was visiting Seattle over the summer. This was a very choice selection. Interesting to drink, I muast admit. Extremely hoppy, and fruity, the aroma takes over and whisks you away into a beer fantasyland. I would love to have some more of this.
