UPDATED: MAY 22, 2003 Dark amber color with very easily disturbed sediment, no head, light lacing. Beautiful aroma primarily hops but just a hint of sweet malt in the nose. Medium bodied slightly sweet with huge hop bitterness to dry it all out. To some things up “yummy”

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2003 LaConner's 4th Anniversary Ale, which as far as I know can only be obtained from Bottleworks in Seattle. 120 IBUs makes this a hopheads delight. It is dark amber in color and no real head, save for a white ring of various sized bubbles. Second pour stirred up the yeast used to bottle condition. Obviously it has a very hoppy aroma, but it was balanced (in my hop-head anyhow) fairly well with some sweet malts. Citrus, grapefruit, light resin, and caramel made up the aroma. Second pour brought out all the meaty-yeasties. Appropriate moderate sweetness with moderate carbonation. Finish is bitter with a bit of twang at the sides of my tongue. A slight nutty character was also present in the finish. Great stuff, get it while you can. I can't wait until next year...
