lilannie (384) - Adamstown, Maryland, USA - AUG 5, 2005
Aroma: some cream, roasted cofee beans, chocolate, malts, and some mustiness
Appearance: very dark brown-->black, large tan head, lots of lacing
Flavor: sweet roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, red grape skins
Palate: thick, smooth and creamy, coats lips and inside of mouth, very filling
Overall: this is the best porter I’ve ever had; too bad it isn’t bottled.

Really nice porter - very drinkable. The aroma is great, appearance is great, flavor is great. I like the roasted and chocolote flavors - they were right on. Had it on tap at the Dog & Pony in Renton. This is a great addition to the amazing beer lineup there.

drismyhero (815) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - OCT 27, 2003
The description says there was bakers' chocolate added the this batch and I believe it. Very strong bitter dark chocolate flavor, almost espressoey. Grainy and very roasty - a bit vinous/sticky. This was a great looking beer with a creamy tan head and thick body, I think it could stand a touch more sweet to balance out the strong bitter chocolate but excellent nonetheless.

Off white head. Aroma is all coffee. Very dark red color, almost no light gets through. Light bodied yet creamy. HUGE taste of roasted malts, unbelievable. Also some coffee in there. Good long roasty finish. Has the LaConner house taste.

hayduke (5572) - Eureka, California, USA - MAY 28, 2011
This was a draft pour at the Brewpub in LaConner. Color was dark brown with a tan head and lots of rich lacing. Nose is roasted malts with some chocolate. Medium body with a smooth texture in the mouth. The flavor is roasted malts with a touch of sourness. Bitterness in the finish. True to style and easy drinking.

3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 6, 2005
Draught at the brewery
Rich, smoky dark nose, dusty and creamy. Flavor is sharp bread crust and blak cherries, some really nice roasted plums and blackberries, with a thick chocolate and smoke layer. A little thin on the tongue, though not a big factor. A unique porter.

Pint – La Conner Brewery – La Conner, WA – Great color, the aroma was thick with coffee and chocolate. Dark malts where roasty this was a wonderful beer. I hope to get more when I go back and visit.

Toffee and coffee aroma on this black pour. Sweet coffee taste but it is light and smooth on the finish.

MrDick (381) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAR 24, 2004
On Tap Fizzy, roasted coffee taste that morphs into a milk chocolate. A mild bitter aftertaste. Not much character but easily drinkable.
