Holmen1 (5874) - Stavanger, NORWAY - DEC 29, 2015

Holmen2 (3638) - NORWAY - DEC 29, 2015
Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 29.12.15. Ebony. Fairly persistent pale beige head and lacing. Aroma of dark caramel, burnt sugar and brittle. Similar taste, with dark malt, roasted barley, dark chocolate, coffee and moderate bitterness. IT’S NOT INFECTED!!! Congratulations, Grans!

Look; beige fluffy head, dark mahogany body, cherry edge. Aroma; dark caramel, fruity wort, bread, raisins, clove, butter caramel, milky cream. Taste; caramel, brown malts, milky dark chocolate, dusty hops, coffee, black chocolate with dry raisins and small butter caramels - leading to a slightly dry malty nutty finish with some sweet caramel perfume. Palate; average body, easy to drink. Overall; dark sweet easy one. Lacks yuletide spices, which would’ve given higher score. Dunkelbock it is for sure. metalspice (963) - Jevnaker, NORWAY - DEC 13, 2014
nesten svart med beigt skum. Mye kaffe og ristet malt i duften. Smaken domineres av kaffe og sjokolade. Godt og fyldig juleøl som matcher julematen på en utmerket måte.

Bottle 500ml (Vinmonopolet)
Deep ruby color, decent beige head and lace. Caramel, medicinal notes and coffee in the nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel-toffeish, medicinal, a bit toasted and alcoholic. Tolerable but not really my kind of bock.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Manglerud enjoyed at home
Pours quite dark, black in glass, tanned head. Smells of spices, anis, roast, burnt malts and a hint of coffee. Medium sweet, quite roasty, nice coffee aroma with a good kick of spices. Moderate bitter finish. Quite nice!
