Short: An Abbey Quadrupel with rich amaretto and flambeed banana flavors but a harsh metallic finishdevman171 (1221) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Origin: Ladyface Size: 4oz Price: ~$2
Long: Clear deep red pour generates some okay spotty lacing. Nose has some soft chocolate banana with awesome flambeed banana’s foster. Rich amaretto body finishes too dry and chalky with metallic penny licking.
Flaws: Less of an Abbey Dubbel than their Blind Ambition Amber, should be Quadrupel. Palate is metallic, harsh, and overattenuated.
Skill Level: Honors student
On Tap, pours medium amber. Aroma is rich dark fruits with a touch of Belgian spice. Taste is a smoother version of the dubbel with a better fruit finish, nice anders37 (26625) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 7, 2013

Amber colored pour with a khaki head. Nice dark fruit aroma of dates, grapes, and raisins. Brown sugar, yeast, and some mild spice. A nice toasted malt aroma and a hint of roast. The flavor is fairly sweet with some brown sugar, caramel, toasted malt, and fruit. Plenty of grape flavor, dates, raisins, and plums, too. Subtle roast and chocolate on the finish. Just a hint of alcohol. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 15, 2012

Growler. Pours a dark amber, with off-white head. Banana, fruit, sweetness, lightly yeasty, and bread. Not that interesting, but still not bad. ekoerper (599) - Iowa, USA - DEC 5, 2011
Nose is spicy, some clove, plums and toasty grains. Pours a murky dark amber, off-white head with decent retention. Flavor is towards the plum and spices, slightly sweet and malty. Medium-full body and medium carbonation. BelgianBeerGal (4066) - Panama City, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Draught at the brewpub. It kinda surprised me this was a dubbel. It was tasty, malty and sweet but maybe missing some of the more Belgian yeast notes and esters. Nice though.
