12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly clear deep reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready/light roasted malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/roast, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from hop/roast bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.9%. Overall this is great amber ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and easy to drink. A really delicious offering, and pristine style example. phaleslu (10277) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2016
Draft at the Smokehouse, served in a pint glass. Pours a clear copper with a small off-white head that settles into a ring and a thin island of film. Some spots of lace are left in the glass. Notes of caramel and toasted malts, leaves, brown sugar - not much to it. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a malty, sweet, earthy mouthfeel. It’s kind of a generic amber ale but it’s fine. Another one that you don’t have to think about and can crush easily while eating barbecue. gunnfryd (14899) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 26, 2015

[ As Lagerheads Bed Head Red ].
Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, straw, toasted, caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, hay - straw. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
Pours a dark translucent caramel with a thick off white head. Initial taste of a sweet malt that is thin on the tongue. After a while, the sweetness taste continues.

A clear one, amber in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is a bit weak I think, with caramel and some malts. A fruity touch too. It’s medium bodied and soft on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Roasted notes, caramel and a little bitterness in the flavor. Some fruityness too. Lasting bready and caramel-ish finish. Quite nice this one, easy drinkable too. 141220 Meilby (11495) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 20, 2014

Pours mahogany with off white head and some lacing. Powerful spicy malty aroma. Taste of caramel and toffee malts. Won’t find hops here. Very flavorful amber.
