Bottle @cgarvieuk. Speedway tasting (Dec 2015) [Rating Backlog] Pours black with a big beige head. Nose is nutty, chocolate, slight smoke. Taste is fruity, cherry, woody, more smoke.

Black with a ridiculously huge beige head. Brown yeast floaties that ultimately sediment in the glass. ARoma is roasted malts, chocolate, licorice. Quite sweet and initially more fruity than roasted, baked apricot, redcurrant, and utlimately licorice and chocolate, light roasted, and a moderate to heavy bitter finish. Medium body, very smooth and dense, (too) high carbonation. Good stout, more foreign than dry for me.

[Bottle (330ml) at Le Supercoin, Paris, May 21] 26th rating of my Paris/Amsterdam trip. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a huge long-lasting fluffy beige head. Some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, lots of hops, coffee, a hint of pepper and some fruit. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee, leafy hops, a bit of fruit and a long, big roasty bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good Stout.

bottle from Bièrerie. Deep brown with a chestnut-red glow, huge fluffy and stable beige head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and wild berries. Light-bodied, dark malts dominate, plus a decent bitterness that goes well with the dark chocolate and cofee flavours, also some blackberries and blackcurrant. Lively carbonation. Delicious.

Dark brown to black body, medium head. Very roasted an dry, with rye and spiced cookies mixed in. Aromatic and we’ll hopped. Not your typical stout as from England or the US, but rather a more charismatic and drier Belgian brown. I like it though! (33cl bottle from Bière Révolution)
