light copper/amber color with a cream head. nose is citrusy, fresh hops and nice esters. good thickness with a smooth hop flavor that has a little bit of lemon in the end. rayOfBeer (674) - El Cerrito, California, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Bottle pours a slightly orange tinted blonde with medium sized white head. Aromas is floral hoppy with citrus, strong but not overpowering like some IPA’s. Flavor hits with citrus (mostly grapefruit), a little hop resin, grass, very light sweetness and a mild caramel note. Palate starts hoppy bitter and continues throughout but mixes well with a mild malt sweetness and a sort of creamy texture. Overall, nice easy drinking with lots of flavor... easily hides the 7.7 abv. twitcher (298) - framingham, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Pours a nice clear orange/light copper color, inch of thick pillowy head that leaves some decent lace. Nose is all hops, some sticky tangerines, resinous bitterness, citrus grapefruits and oranges. Flavor starts with sharp but not overly aggressive bitterness. The citrus from the nose definitely shows up in the flavor- plenty of sharp chalky grapefruit and oranges. Some light peppery notes and pine resins show up as well. Superb hop character. No real malt balance to speak of; some light toasted biscuits. Palate is sharp and even, lightly bitter finish. Overall, a pretty damn good IPA that really shows off the Amarillo hops. LinusStick (3461) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2009
A delicious and hoppy IPA. This is the kind of IPA I like where the hops are grossly overpowering the malt (like Victory Hop Wallop). Aroma was grass, grapefruit rine and a hint of light fruit. Pour was a medium gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was strongly bitter with grapefruit and grass in the front and a weird sweet aftertaste. After reading the commercial description, I can put my finger on it....it’s like a thin bodied very bitter IPA with a wheat beer aftertaste. Decent carbonation and easy to drink. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - JUN 13, 2009
Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Big tropical/summer fruit aroma with some ruby grapefruit. Summer fruit and grapefruit flavor. Medium bodied. Nice bitterness. Bitterness (piney/fruity) lingers with summer/tropical fruit and light malt.

Poured from Bottle into Pint glass.
Pours a radiant golden-orange with a finger of creamy white head that dissolves and remains a nice heavy layer around the glass. Aroma is fruity with grapefruit and various citrus, resiny hops and some sweet malts. Flavor is slightly citrusy with more grapefruit and tangerine, crisp bitterness and a sweet finish. Its light to medium bodied and has plenty of carbonation. I love the aroma of this beer, its booming with fruit and the flavor is just so damn clean. All around an extremely enjoyable brew. thornecb (5912) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 12, 2009
Pours deep gold into a shaker. Off-white head with excellent retention leaves spider lacing. Fruity resin aromas. Crisp with upfront sweet citrus and touch of wheat in the middle. Lasting pine and resin finish. Certainly the hoppiest of the summer wheat ales. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 12, 2009
6 pack - Wine Specialist (DC). Clear amber gold, thin creamy off white head. Juicy pink grapefruit and pine aromas ride soft candied mango undercurrents. Fresh hoppy dried floral and tangelo-like flavors round with a hint of sweet resiny pineapple. Medium bodied, soft carboantion, drying bitter finish. Another great Lagunitas hop special... gringo332 (640) - Richardson, Texas, USA - JUN 11, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2010 This maybe weird, but I could smell this bear all day long. Smells of peaches, no the usual IPA aroma. Not very bitter for an IPA, but very smooth and refreshing. I may need to try it at a warmer temp next. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - JUN 11, 2009
Bottle. Pours a beautiful cheddar orange with an aroma of blunt and sharp pine, grapefruit, and orange. Flavor is a mishmash of the aroma, with the added ingredient peach. Average mouthfeel, just a touch tingly on the tongue. Nice, NICE IPA. Glad I bought a sixer.
