Pours a clean golden color from the bottle with a nice white head, but little lacing. Aroma is piney, straight west cost hops. Taste is same, with a good clean finish and slight alcoholic burn. Not sure how this is all that different from their regular IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2013 Bottle. Pours a golden color with no head. The aroma is hops and the flavor is piney and medium bitter. Leaves a kind of sour and bitter aftertaste. Ok beer. Update for 2013: raise rating from 3.7 to 4. The bitterness was much more mellow with less aftertaste. Very good.

Transparent light amber. Pine on the nose with some apricot. Fruity mid-palate, medium bodied. Very hoppy on the finish. Nice IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2015 I originally reviewed t his beer three and a half years ago, before I really had a taste for IPA. I didnít like it at all back then. Itís funny how dramatically my taste has changed. I love this beer now, and really like super-bitter IPAs. This one isnít an imperial, but it packs a lot of punch. Itís one of my reliable favorites, and Iíve changed the numbers to reflect that. Itís bitter and delicious. Itís a wonderful IPA. Hereís what I wrote about it back when I drank stout almost exclusively and didnít care much for IPA: It looks like a glass of pee thatís been produced by someone with a vitamin B surplus, with about as much head as youíd expect on a glass of pee. The smell is freshly cut grass, grapefruit, reefer and pee. The taste is all of that, plus about a shot of pine-sol. If nothing else, it is a little sumpiní sumpiní different. Of all the beers I had this week, Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin Ale is certainly the one Iím writing about right now.

To smell this beer is like crashing into a pine tree while skiing. Itís a knotty pine log youíre trying to cut with a dull ax. Some citrus and Cheech and Chong set pieces too. Looks bright orange like a Belgian ale. The taste is a grapefruit wine Very pronounced hopping; seems a light on malts for the sake of bitterness. More than the indicated 64BUs i would think. Body is hard to tell, probably medium. A dry beer to say the least , but as it warms it becomes more approachable. Good stuff.

Pours a light gold with a lot of carbonation that makes up a bubbly white head. Smells of pineapples and tangerines as well as pine hops. Light bodied and heavy hop presence, does not have a a strong taste of alcohol. Along with the dominant hops the carbonation really excites the tongue. Next strongest is the orange, pineapple and citrus flavors. The yeast flavoring is stronger than the malt which i can barely place my finger on since this beer starts and finishes so bitter.

Bottle from ōlbutikken Copenhagen Golden hazy color, ok foam Full body & high complexity High viscosity Distinct integrated hops with pine character Very enjoyable, but a bit to much viscosity for my taste

Pours golden yellow, cloudy, big white head. Lots of floral notes and fruit on the nose. Taste has sweet citrus malts and hop, med bodied, dry, but not too bitter after taste. Balanced. Very good IPA.
