INFORMATION: 12oz bottle with no freshness date. I know that Lagunitas usually puts a code on the bottle from which you can determine what day of the year that it was brewed, but there is no such code here. This bottle is from this Spring’s batch, so it’s pretty fresh. 64 IBUs....7.5% ABV.

APPEARANCE: Pours a pale yellow-orange color with a good two fingers worth of off-white colored head floating on top. Plenty of carbonation bubbles visible within the glass. Pretty good clarity for a wheat beer. Impressive lacing sticking to the inside of the glass with each sip.

NOSE: Orange, lemon, mango, juicy fruit gum, musk melon! This beer is fruiTy with a capital T! Behind the wall of citrus lies subtle hints of this being a wheat beer.

TASTE: Good light wheat flavor up front, but it’s short lived. Fruity flavors come rushing in just as the aroma suggest. There’s a touch of hop bitterness towards the middle, but this beer is big on the citrus, and not so much on the bitterness. The flavor of the wheat shows itself again towards the back end. Soft fruity finish begs for you to take another sip.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium bodied with a soft carbonation.

OVERALL: The best of the best where wheat beers are concerned.

Morey’s Bottom Line: The first time that I had this, I was floored. I’ve had it several times since, and nothing’s changed. If you see this, by all means....grab a six pack!

Bottle. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet. Fantastic light malt and juicy fruity hops. Strawberries, oranges, bubble gum. Candy water that gets you messed up.

God.

Bottle @ home. giallo ambrato velato, schiuma bianco sporco, non molto fine, persistente. Aroma intenso, fruttato, luppolo in dry hopping, agrumi, marmellata di arance amare, resinoso, maltato, cereali (frumento) caramello e leggermente erbaceo. Abboccato e fruttato l’ingresso, frutta in confettura, decisamente amaro, luppolato, resinoso ed agrumato. Acidulo, per via del frumento. Corposa, poco carbonata, calda, abbastanza rotonda nonostante l’amaro pronunciato ed una leggera acidità. Equilibrata ed armonica.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2016 Colore Dorato limpida, schiuma biancastra a grana fine.

Bottle. Clear golden with small white head. Medium malty and heavy hoppy. Aroma of citrus, orange, apricot and pine - along with toasty and caramel. Starts medium sweet and finish light-heavy bitter with lingering orange notes. Light alcohol notes. Medium body and juicy texture. Average carbontation. A nice IPA.

On keg at the Draft House Hammersmith. Light to mid-gold. Almost clear with a bit of white head and a lot of lacing. Grapefruit, apricot, mango and heavy pine in the scent. The taste is resinous and sumptuously sweet with bitter lemony hop in the back of the throat for the long finish. Aftertaste of Angostura bitters, lemon rind. Some banana. Fabulous. This is like Lagunitas IPA’s big brother.
