12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold color with a brief white head. Nice aroma of hops and malt. Medium-full body with a good balance of piney hops and sweet malt with a touch of sourness during the slightly bitter finish. Good one! NeuroPliny (247) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 8, 2015
Taster at Lagunitas. Pours clear amber with a generous white head. Aroma is light hops, sweet malts, and hints of ripe fruit and barnyard. Flavour is well balanced malts and hops with notes of barnyard yeast and spices. Medium body. jgb9348 (6438) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 2, 2015
Completely clear peach and light copper coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pure brett, light wheat, grain, alcohol, vinegar and a good fresh herb scent - nice and pungent. Medium-bodied; Effervescent quality up front with a potent yeast kick with the brett very noticeable and a pungent bitterness from herbs and grass also at the end. Aftertaste shows a big alcohol kick (more than I expected) and a big fresh malt and hop character with more brett and yeast notes than anything else, but in a good way. Overall, a very well-crafted beer with tons of character, but perhaps a touch too deep and bitter, along with a nice brett and yeast flavour throughout. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Lebanese Taverna Market in Arlington, Virginia on 07-January-2015 sampled at home in Washington on 01-February-2015 - Thanks Kev! Pours a clear, classic golden with a large, smooth, fluffy, white head, in spite of a careful pour. Light notes of hop resin are dominated by earthy Belgian aromas. Healthy, rich, soft mouthfeel. Well-blended malt sweetness, barnyard overtones, and tartness. ACHops (1616) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 18, 2015
On tap @ Lagunitas Petaluma. Pours hazy orange amber with lacy white head. Aroma is mild caramel malt, light hops, and sweet lightly funky Belgian yeast notes. Taste is similar - here the Belgian yeast flavor dominates fairly substantial malt and hops. Finishes dry and clean. Tastes well smaller than ~9%. Interesting beer, and good, but honestly probably not an improvement on straight Lil’ Sumpin.

Bottle into tulip glass, clear light-amber golden color with soapy off-white head. Aroma of citrus/pine hops, candy sugar, Belgian yeast and herbal spices. Taste adds notes of heavy grapefruit, resin, light caramel, lemon candy, fruity (pear, green apple) and honey. Medium body, low-moderate carbonation, dry with fruity bitter finish. Slight funky take on the regular, quite good. Jayb0 (1215) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - JAN 5, 2015
I’m trying not to encourage ubiquitous beer making of this high strength but this is a good beer. lagunitas reels in the hop overload by balancing it really well with earthy, bready, and slighty sour character. Much more interesting that the usual IPA, this definitely hits as a Belgian Strong. If they could do the same at about 7.3 I’d be raving. Nejhleader (1574) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 3, 2015
has a nice sweet malt aroma. a very nice spice, good syle taste. Solid body with a tingly spice hop aftertaste. Bebum (1062) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 3, 2015
Clear, light gold, tall and persistent head but sparse lace.
Exuberant and complex floral nose, the greatest aspect of this beer.
Medium body, matching in flavor intensity, silky texture, well rounded mouthfeel, very long palate.
Definitly bitter but malty background balances it perfectly.
Floral, malty and hoppy.
