This one can easily become one of my favorites from Lagunitas (next to their stout of course!!). Beautiful, aromatic and very flavorful. Hoppy through and through but nothing overbearing. Easy to drink but watch that ABV! The alcohol is very well hidden; but it is there! Nice ‘sting’ from the alcohol in the aftertaste. So good I was reaching for the next bottle before my glass was even empty!!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice and bitter with a good yeast character. I’m missing the spiciness i usually associate with belgian strong ales, but it’s good. You’ll find lots of piney aroma punctuated by a sweet malt underbelly. The taste is fruity, malty, with a hoppy punch. I really like how the fizzy gives a little bite. Quite good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber from Spec’s in Austin. Pours a light orange/amber body with a bubbly, sticky head that left nice lacing. Aromas of orange zest, fruity, yeasty, some grassy hops and lightly sweet. Flavors of floral/citrus hops, yeasty, medium carmel sweet, some spicyness and a bit of an odd fruity flavor(?). Another very good (not quite great) beer from Lagunitas.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle, lightly cloudy golden hue with thick creamy white lasting head, smells of banana spice and clove with some grapefruit citrus, good balance of Belgium yeast and hops, alcohol is hidden but effective, spice meshes with the bitterness on the back end. Very nice and enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mostly floral hops, some tropical fruit. I’m not getting much in the way of yeast. Tastes more like an IPA than a Belgian to me.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pale straw with an aroma of sweet, candi sugars and American hops. Exceptionally quaffable, stone fruity and quite a surprise! Like a happy Westmalle (same yeast, apparently).

22 oz bomber from Tournament. Dark golden pour with a big fluffy white head. Massive hops aroma, citrus notes, especially orange peel. Thick chewy mouthfeel, sweet hoppy flavor with a slightly bitter bite to the finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle. A quite pretty and nicely carbonated pour with a cloud-like thick milky white head, sticky clumps of lacing and bright, yet slightly hazy golden orange appearance. The hops in the aroma are pretty distinct Lagunitas style with hazy citrus and melon fruit, and resiny pine. The wheat and Belgian yeast do add some interesting notes of light peppery bread, caramel cookie, and a light tart fruitiness. Some creamy qualities start in the feel, but give way to a rather lively and fruity bitterness. Flavor notes clump together a bit (similarly to how I describe the Extra), but the overall product is interestingly tasty. Fruity Belgian esters, caramel, fresh biscuit to start. This immediately gives way to highly bitter, sticky finish with pine leafs, heavy sweet citrus, and earth. I enjoyed this one. Overall, probably right on par with its brother, with a bonus point for originality.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The nose is floral with peach, plum, and some farmhouse aromas. The taste starts with sweetness at first and hits tongue with citrus, peach, yeasts, malts and alcohol. Large spice backbone, with grassy yeast. The finish is bread-like and faintly sour. Overall - Pretty tasty and flavorful. It seems to want to fit in the saison family to me

Real nice. Pours yellow orange bit white head. Aroma of orange, spicy honey wheat. Pretty big medium body, honey, spicy wheat and lemon with a bittering dry finish.
